Mt 13, 1-58

1 In that day, Jesus, departing from the house, sat down beside the sea. 2 And such great crowds were gathered to him that he climbed into a boat and he sat down. And the entire multitude stood on the shore. 3 And he spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow seed. 4 And while he was sowing, some fell beside the road, 571 and the birds of the air came and ate it. 5 Then others fell in a rocky place, where they did not have much soil. And they sprung up promptly, because they had no depth of soil. 6 But when the sun rose up, they were scorched, and because they had no roots, they withered. 7 Still others fell among thorns, and the thorns increased and suffocated them. 8 Yet some others fell upon good soil, and they produced fruit: some one hundred fold, some sixty fold, some thirty fold. 9 Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.” 10 And his disciples drew near to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” 11 Responding, he said to them: “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but it has not been given to them. 12 For whoever has, it shall be given to him, and he shall have in abundance. But whoever has not, even what he has shall be taken away from him. 13 For this reason, I speak to them in parables: because seeing, they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14 And so, in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, who said, ‘Hearing, you shall hear, but not understand; and seeing, you shall see, but not perceive. 15 For the heart of this people has grown fat, and with their ears they hear heavily, and they have closed their eyes, lest at any time they might see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and then I would heal them.’ 16 But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. 17 Amen I say to you, certainly, that many of the prophets and the just desired to see what you see, and yet they did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and yet they did not hear it. 18 Listen, then, to the parable of the sower. 19 With anyone who hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, evil comes and carries away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received the seed by the side of the road. 20 Then whoever has received the seed upon a rocky place, this is one who hears the word and promptly accepts it with joy. 21 But he has no root in himself, so it is only for a time; then, when tribulation and persecution occur because of the word, he promptly stumbles. 22 And whoever has received the seed among thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the falseness of riches suffocate the word, and he is effectively without fruit. 23 Yet truly, whoever has received the seed into good soil, this is he who hears the word, and understands it, and so he bears fruit, and he produces: some a hundred fold, and another sixty fold, and another thirty fold.” 24 He proposed another parable to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while the men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds amid the wheat, and then went away. 26 And when the plants had grown, and had produced fruit, then the weeds also appeared. 27 So the servants of the Father of the family, approaching, said to him: ‘Lord, did you not sow good seed in your field? Then how is it that it has weeds?’ 28 And he said to them, ‘A man who is an enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Is it your will that we should go and gather them up?’ 29 And he said: ‘No, lest perhaps in gathering the weeds, you might also root out the wheat together with it. 30 Permit both to grow until the harvest, and at the time of the harvest, I will say to the reapers: Gather first the weeds, and bind them into bundles to burn, but the wheat gather into my storehouse.’ ” 31 He proposed another parable to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. 32 It is, indeed, the least of all seeds, but when it has grown, it is greater than all the plants, and it becomes a tree, so much so that the birds of the air come and dwell in its branches.” 33 He spoke another parable to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of fine wheat flour, until it was entirely leavened.” 34 All these things Jesus spoke in parables to the crowds. And he did not speak to them apart from parables, 35 in order to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet, saying: “I will open my mouth in parables. I will proclaim what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.” 36 Then, dismissing the crowds, he went into the house. And his disciples drew near to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” 37 Responding, he said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of man. 38 Now the field is the world. And the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom. But the weeds are the sons of wickedness. 39 So the enemy who sowed them is the devil. And truly, the harvest is the consummation of the age; while the reapers are the Angels. 40 Therefore, just as weeds are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the consummation of the age. 41 The Son of man shall send out his Angels, and they shall gather from his kingdom all who lead astray and those who work iniquity. 42 And he shall cast them into the furnace of fire, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the just ones shall shine like the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear. 44 The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. When a man finds it, he hides it, and, because of his joy, he goes and sells everything that he has, and he buys that field. 45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking good pearls. 46 Having found one pearl of great value, he went away and sold all that he had, and he bought it. 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net cast into the sea, which gathers together all kinds of fish. 48 When it has been filled, drawing it out and sitting beside the shore, they selected the good into vessels, but the bad they threw away. 49 So shall it be at the consummation of the age. The Angels shall go forth and separate the bad from the midst of the just. 50 And they shall cast them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 51 Have you understood all these things?” They say to him, “Yes.” 52 He said to them, “Therefore, every scribe well-taught about the kingdom of heaven, is like a man, the father of a family, who offers from his storehouse both the new and the old.” 53 And it happened that, when Jesus had completed these parables, he went away from there. 54 And arriving in his own country, he taught them in their synagogues, so much so that they wondered and said: “How can such wisdom and power be with this one? 55 Is this not the son of a workman? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Jude? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Therefore, from where has this one obtained all these things?” 57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country and in his own house.” 58 And he did not work many miracles there, because of their unbelief. 572

Verš 1
In that day, Jesus, departing from the house, sat down beside the sea.
Mk 4:1 - And again, he began to teach by the sea. And a great crowd was gathered to him, so much so that, climbing into a boat, he was seated on the sea. And the entire crowd was on the land along the sea.
Lk 8:4 - Then, when a very numerous crowd was gathering together and hurrying from the cities to him, he spoke using a comparison:

And such great crowds were gathered to him that he climbed into a boat and he sat down. And the entire multitude stood on the shore.
Lk 5:3 - And so, climbing into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, he asked him to draw back a little from the land. And sitting down, he taught the crowds from the boat.

Verš 10
And his disciples drew near to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”
Mk 4:10 - And when he was alone, the twelve, who were with him, questioned him about the parable.
Lk 8:9 - Then his disciples questioned him as to what this parable might mean.

Verš 11
Responding, he said to them: “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but it has not been given to them.
2Kor 3:14 - for their minds were obtuse. And, even until this present day, the very same veil, in the readings from the Old Testament, remains not taken away (though, in Christ, it is taken away).
Mt 11:25 - At that time, Jesus responded and said: “I acknowledge you, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the prudent, and have revealed them to little ones.

Verš 12
For whoever has, it shall be given to him, and he shall have in abundance. But whoever has not, even what he has shall be taken away from him.
Mt 25:29 - For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he shall have in abundance. But from him who has not, even what he seems to have, shall be taken away.
Mk 4:24 - And he said to them: “Consider what you hear. With whatever measure you have measured out, it shall be measured back to you, and more shall be added to you.
Lk 8:18 - Therefore, take care how you listen. For whoever has, it will be given to him; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.”
Lk 19:26 - So then, I say to you, that to all who have, it shall be given, and he will have in abundance. And from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.

And so, in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, who said, ‘Hearing, you shall hear, but not understand; and seeing, you shall see, but not perceive.
Iz 6:9 - And he said: “Go forth! And you shall say to this people: ‘When you listen, you will hear and not understand. And when you see a vision, you will not comprehend.’
Mk 4:12 - ‘so that, seeing, they may see, and not perceive; and hearing, they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they may be converted, and their sins would be forgiven them.’ ”
Lk 8:10 - And he said to them: “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God. But to the rest, it is in parables, so that: seeing, they may not perceive, and hearing, they may not understand.
Jn 12:40 - “He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, so that they may not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted: and then I would heal them.”
Sk 28:26 - saying: ‘Go to this people and say to them: Hearing, you shall hear and not understand, and seeing, you shall see and not perceive.
Rim 11:8 - just as it was written: “God has given them a spirit of reluctance: eyes that do not perceive, and ears that do not hear, even until this very day.”

Verš 16
But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.
Lk 10:23 - And turning to his disciples, he said: “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
Jn 20:29 - Jesus said to him: “You have seen me, Thomas, so you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
1Pt 1:8 - For though you have not seen him, you love him. In him also, though you do not see him, you now believe. And in believing, you shall exult with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

Verš 17
Amen I say to you, certainly, that many of the prophets and the just desired to see what you see, and yet they did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and yet they did not hear it.
1Pt 1:10 - About this salvation, the prophets inquired and diligently searched, those who prophesied about the future grace in you,

Listen, then, to the parable of the sower.
Mk 4:13 - And he said to them: “Do you not understand this parable? And so, how will you understand all the parables?
Lk 8:11 - Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Verš 19
With anyone who hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, evil comes and carries away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received the seed by the side of the road.
Mt 4:23 - And Jesus traveled throughout all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every infirmity among the people.

Mt 19:23 - Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, I say to you, that the wealthy shall enter with difficulty into the kingdom of heaven.
Mk 10:23 - And Jesus, looking around, said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God!”
Lk 18:24 - Then Jesus, seeing him brought to sorrow, said: “How difficult it is for those who have money to enter into the kingdom of God!
1Tim 6:9 - For those who want to become rich fall into temptation and into the snare of the devil and into many useless and harmful desires, which submerge men in destruction and in perdition.

Verš 30
Permit both to grow until the harvest, and at the time of the harvest, I will say to the reapers: Gather first the weeds, and bind them into bundles to burn, but the wheat gather into my storehouse.’ ”
Mt 3:12 - His winnowing fan is in his hand. And he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. And he will gather his wheat into the barn. But the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”

He proposed another parable to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.
Mk 4:30 - And he said: “To what should we compare the kingdom of God? Or to what parable should we compare it?
Lk 13:18 - And so he said: “To what is the kingdom of God similar, and to what figure shall I compare it?

He spoke another parable to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of fine wheat flour, until it was entirely leavened.”
Lk 13:20 - And again, he said: “To what figure shall I compare the kingdom of God?

Verš 34
All these things Jesus spoke in parables to the crowds. And he did not speak to them apart from parables,
Mk 4:33 - And with many such parables he spoke the word to them, as much as they were able to hear.

Verš 35
in order to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet, saying: “I will open my mouth in parables. I will proclaim what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.”
Ž 78:2 - They have placed the dead bodies of your servants as food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your saints for the beasts of the earth.

Verš 39
So the enemy who sowed them is the devil. And truly, the harvest is the consummation of the age; while the reapers are the Angels.
Joe 3:13 - Send forth the sickles, because the harvest has matured. Advance and descend, for the press is full, the pressing room is overflowing. For their malice has been increasing.
Zjv 14:15 - And another Angel went forth from the temple, crying out in a great voice to the one sitting upon the cloud: “Send out your sickle and reap! For the hour of reaping has arrived, because the harvest of the earth has ripened.”

Verš 42
And he shall cast them into the furnace of fire, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mt 8:12 - But the sons of the kingdom shall be cast into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Mt 22:13 - Then the king said to the ministers: ‘Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mt 24:51 - And he shall separate him, and he shall place his portion with the hypocrites, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Mt 25:30 - And cast that useless servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Lk 13:28 - In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, yet you yourselves are expelled outside.

Verš 43
Then the just ones shall shine like the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.
Dan 12:3 - But those who have taught will shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who instruct many towards justice, like the stars for unending eternity.
1Kor 15:42 - So it is also with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown in corruption shall rise to incorruption.

Verš 44
The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. When a man finds it, he hides it, and, because of his joy, he goes and sells everything that he has, and he buys that field.
Flp 3:7 - But the things which had been to my gain, the same have I considered a loss, for the sake of Christ.

And they shall cast them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And it happened that, when Jesus had completed these parables, he went away from there.

And arriving in his own country, he taught them in their synagogues, so much so that they wondered and said: “How can such wisdom and power be with this one?
Mk 6:2 - And when the Sabbath arrived, he began to teach in the synagogue. And many, upon hearing him, were amazed at his doctrine, saying: “Where did this one get all these things?” and, “What is this wisdom, which has been given to him?” and, “Such powerful deeds, which are wrought by his hands!”

Is this not the son of a workman? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Jude?
Jn 6:42 - And they said: “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? Then how can he say: ‘For I descended from heaven?’ ”

Verš 57
And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country and in his own house.”
Mk 6:4 - And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house, and among his own kindred.”
Lk 4:24 - Then he said: “Amen I say to you, that no prophet is accepted in his own country.
Jn 4:44 - For Jesus himself offered testimony that a Prophet has no honor in his own country.

Mt 13,1-9 - Mk 4, 1–9; Lk 8, 4–8.

Mt 13,3 - Podobenstvo je literárny útvar, charakteristický pre evanjeliá. Je to príbeh, udalosť, najčastejšie zo života človeka, pomocou ktorého Ježiš vysvetľuje nadprirodzenú pravdu. Pre podobenstvo je príznačné, že vyzýva poslucháča, aby sa nad ním zamyslel a porovnal s ním svoj život.

Mt 13,10-17 - Mk 4, 10–12. 25; Lk 8, 9–10. 18.

Mt 13,14-15 - Iz 6, 9–10.

Mt 13,16 - Lk 10, 23–24.

Mt 13,18-23 - Mk 4, 13–20; Lk 8, 11–15.

Mt 13,24-30 - Podobenstvo o kúkoli má iba Mt. Odpovedá v ňom na otázku o pôvode zla a o zmysle zla v Cirkvi a vo svete.

Mt 13,31-32 - Mk 4, 30–32; Lk 13, 18–19.

Mt 13,31 - Podobenstvo o vzraste horčičného zrnka znázorňuje rozvoj Božieho kráľovstva na svete od skromných začiatkov až po celosvetovú veľkosť.

Mt 13,33 - Lk 13, 20–21.Cirkev sa nemá len rozšíriť po svete, ale má premeniť najmä vnútorné zmýšľanie ľudí, aby boli Božími deťmi. Podobenstvo vyjadruje vnútornú silu evanjelia. "Miera" je 13,09 l.

Mt 13,34 - Mk 4, 34–35.

Mt 13,35 - Ž 78, 2.

Mt 13,36-43 - Boh trpí na tomto svete dobrých i zlých ľudí a tak to bude až do posledného súdu. Vtedy sa konečne všetko roztriedi. Týmto podobenstvom Kristus poúča, že v jeho Cirkvi budú aj hriešni členovia; ukazuje sa tu božská zhovievavosť, ktorou Boh trpí hriešnikov a dáva im čas na pokánie.

Mt 13,47-50 - Podobenstvo o rybárskej sieti znázorňuje, aký osud čaká dobrých a zlých členov Cirkvi na konci sveta.

Mt 13,53-58 - Mk 6, 1–6; Lk 4, 16. 24.

Mt 13,55-56 - O Ježišových "bratoch" pozri poznámku k 12, 46. Tu spomínané Ježišove "sestry" boli podobne ako "bratia" jeho príbuznými.

Mt 13,58 - Ježiš nekonal zázraky na želanie ľudí. Každý jeho zázrak bol znamením spásy. Konaním zázrakov dokazoval ľuďom, že v ňom sa priblížila spása. Preto na jednej strane sa žiada viera u toho, na kom mal vykonať zázrak, na druhej strane túto vieru zázrakmi udeľoval a zväčšoval. Nerobil preto zázraky tam, kde ho vopred svojou neverou odmietali.
