   Moses and Aaron are among his priests, and Samuel is among those who call upon his name. They 332 called upon the Lord, and he heeded them.

   The way of life is for those who observe discipline. But whoever abandons correction wanders 348 astray.

   And since I know that it is not possible to be chaste except as a gift from God, and that it is a point of wisdom to know whose gift it is, I approached 367 the Lord, and I besought him, and I said with my whole heart:
   Yet 371 there appeared to them a sudden fire, filled with fear; and, having been struck with the fear of that face which is unseen, they considered those things which they did see to be worse,
   For a fitting necessity was leading them to this end, and they were losing the remembrance of those things which had 372 happened, so that what was lacking in the sufferings of the conflict might be completed by the punishment,
   “Depart from the honored face of my 387 friends. For it has become necessary for my house to host my brother instead.”
   He brought a famine upon them, and those who provoked him in their envy became few. For they could not bear the precepts of 396 the Lord.
   And the Lord will give you rest continually, and he will fill your soul with splendor, and he will free your bones, and you will be like a watered garden 423 and like a fountain of water whose waters will not fail.
   Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Add your holocausts to your sacrifices, and eat 431 the flesh.
   For this reason, thus says the Lord about the prophets who prophesy in my name, whom I have not sent, who say: ‘Sword and famine will not be in 435 this land.’ By sword and famine those prophets will be consumed.
   And I will fulfill my indignation against the wall, and against those who cover it without mixing the mortar, and I will say to you: The wall is no more, and 473 those who covered it are no more:
   Moreover, by order of the king, those men were brought who had accused Daniel, and they 503 were cast into the lions’ den, they, and their sons, and their wives, and they did not reach the bottom of the den before the lions seized them and crushed all their bones.
   And this shall be: whoever will not go up, from the families of the earth to Jerusalem, so as to 531 adore the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no showers upon them.
   And the nations became angry, but 703 your wrath arrived, and the time for the dead to be judged, and to render a reward to your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to those who fear your name, small and great, and to exterminate those who have corrupted the earth.”
