3 (KJV) I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

4 (KJV) They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
4 (ROH) Ustal som od svojho volania; moje hrdlo vyschlo; moje oči zomdlely, kým očakávam na svojho Boha.

5 (KJV) O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.

6 (KJV) Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.
6 (ROH) Bože, ty znáš môj nerozum, a moje previnenia nie sú skryté pred tebou.

7 (KJV) Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.

8 (KJV) I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.
8 (ROH) Lebo pre teba nesiem pohanenie, pre teba pokryl stud moju tvár.

9 (KJV) For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
9 (ROH) Cudzím som sa stal svojim bratom a neznámym svojej matky synom.

10 (KJV) When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.

11 (KJV) I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.
11 (ROH) Ak plačem trápiac pôstom svoju dušu, je mi to na potupu.

12 (KJV) They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.
12 (ROH) A keď miesto rúcha beriem na seba smútočné vrece, vtedy som im porekadlom.

13 (KJV) But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
13 (ROH) Zlé hovoria o mne tí, ktorí sedia v bráne, a pesničkou k hudbe som tým, ktorí pijú opojný nápoj.

14 (KJV) Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

15 (KJV) Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

16 (KJV) Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
16 (ROH) Nech ma nezaleje valiaci sa prúd vody, nech ma nepohltí hlbina, a nech nezavrie jama nado mnou svojich úst!

17 (KJV) And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.

18 (KJV) Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.
18 (ROH) A neskrývaj svojej tvári pred svojím služobníkom, lebo mi je úzko. Rýchle sa mi ohlás.

19 (KJV) Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.
19 (ROH) Priblíž sa mojej duši; vyprosti ju! Vykúp ma pre mojich nepriateľov!

20 (KJV) Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
20 (ROH) Ty znáš moje pohanenie, moju hanbu a môj stud; pred tebou sú všetci moji protivníci.

21 (KJV) They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
21 (ROH) Pohanenie skrúšilo moje srdce, a preto som zronený.

22 (KJV) Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
22 (ROH) Ale mi dali miesto pokrmu žlče, a v mojej žízni ma napájali octom.

23 (KJV) Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.

24 (KJV) Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.

25 (KJV) Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
25 (ROH) Vylej na nich svoj prudký hnev, a nech ich dostihne páľa tvojho hnevu!

26 (KJV) For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
26 (ROH) Ich príbytok nech je pustý a nech nie je nikoho, kto by býval v ich stánoch;

27 (KJV) Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
27 (ROH) lebo prenasledujú toho, ktorého si ty zbil, a rozprávajú o bolesti tvojich smrteľne zranených.

28 (KJV) Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
28 (ROH) Pridaj neprávosť k ich neprávosti, a nech nevojdú do tvojej spravedlivosti.

29 (KJV) But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
29 (ROH) Nech sú vytretí z knihy života a nech nie sú zapísaní spolu so spravedlivými!

30 (KJV) I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
30 (ROH) A ja, keď aj som biedny a sovrený bolesťou, tvoje spasenie, Bože, ma vyvýši.

31 (KJV) This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
31 (ROH) Budem chváliť meno Božie piesňou a zvelebovať ho budem vďakou.

32 (KJV) The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.
32 (ROH) A to bude príjemnejšie Hospodinovi ako vôl, ako rohatý junec s rozdeleným kopytom.

33 (KJV) For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.
33 (ROH) Keď to uvidia biedni, budú sa radovať, a vám, ktorí hľadáte Boha, ožije vaše srdce.

34 (KJV) Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein.
34 (ROH) Lebo Hospodin počuje chudobných a neopovrhuje svojimi väzňami.

35 (KJV) For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.
35 (ROH) Nech ho chvália nebesia i zem, moria i všetko, čo sa hemží v nich.

36 (KJV) The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
36 (ROH) Pretože Bôh zachráni Sion a vystaví mestá Judska, a budú tam bývať, a ňou, zemou, budú vládnuť dedične.

37 ----
37 (ROH) A semeno jeho služobníkov ju zdedia, a tí, ktorí milujú jeho meno, budú bývať v nej.

Ž 69, 1-37

Verš 9
For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
Jn 2:17 - And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
Rim 15:3 - For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

Verš 25
Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
Sk 1:20 - For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

Verš 21
They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
Mt 27:34 - They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
Mt 27:48 - And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
Mk 15:23 - And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.
Jn 19:28 - After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

Verš 22
Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
Rim 11:9 - And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompence unto them:

Verš 23
Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
Iz 6:9 - And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
Iz 29:10 - For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
Iz 44:18 - They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
Rim 11:10 - Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

Pavol (Rim 11,9) a sv. Lukáš (Sk 1,16.20). Mesiášsku povahu žalmu potvrdzujú novozákonné citácie.

Z 69,5 - "Musel som vrátiť, čo som neulúpil" - azda príslovie na potvrdenie vlastnej neviny. Takto mohol hovoriť Mesiáš, ktorý naozaj trpel nevinne.

Z 69,12 - Trpiteľ si obliekol "vrecovinu", jednoduchý oblek z kozej srsti. Izraeliti ho nosievali na znak smútku a pokánia (Ž 30,12; 35,13; porov. Jn 3,5.6.8).
