1 (KJV) Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
1 (ROH) Hallelujah, chváľte Hospodina, lebo je dobre spievať našemu Bohu žalmy, lebo je to krásne a milé; slušná je chvála.
2 (KJV) The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
2 (ROH) Staviteľom Jeruzalema je Hospodin; shromaždí rozptýlených Izraelových,
3 (KJV) He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
3 (ROH) ten, ktorý uzdravuje skrúšených srdcom a obväzuje ich boľaviny,
4 (KJV) He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
4 (ROH) ktorý počíta počet hviezd a každú z nich volá menom.
5 (KJV) Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
5 (ROH) Veľký je náš Pán a nesmierny v sile; jeho rozumnosti nieto počtu.
6 (KJV) The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
6 (ROH) Hospodin pomáha pokorným a bezbožných snižuje až k zemi.
7 (KJV) Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
7 (ROH) Spievajte Hospodinu chválu! Spievajte nášmu Bohu žalmy pri citare,
8 (KJV) Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
8 (ROH) tomu, ktorý prikrýva nebesia hustými oblaky, ktorý nastrojuje zemi dážď, ktorý pôsobí, aby na vrchoch rástla tráva,
9 (KJV) He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
9 (ROH) ktorý dáva hovädu jeho pokrm i mladým havranom, ktorí volajú.
10 (KJV) He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
10 (ROH) Nemá záľuby v sile koňa ani sa nekochá v lýtkach muža.
11 (KJV) The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
11 (ROH) Hospodin má záľubu v tých, ktorí sa ho boja, v tých, ktorí očakávajú na jeho milosť.
12 (KJV) Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
12 (ROH) Vychvaľuj Jeruzaleme Hospodina! Sione, chváľ svojho Boha!
13 (KJV) For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
13 (ROH) Lebo upevňuje závory tvojich brán; žehná tvojich synov v tebe;
14 (KJV) He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
14 (ROH) on pôsobí, aby tvoje hranice maly pokoj; sýti ťa beľou pšenice;
15 (KJV) He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
15 (ROH) vysiela svoju reč na zem; jeho slovo beží až veľmi rýchle;
16 (KJV) He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
16 (ROH) dáva sneh ako vlnu; rozsýpa inovať ako popol;
17 (KJV) He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
17 (ROH) hádže svojím ľadom ako skyvami. Kto obstojí pred jeho zimou?
18 (KJV) He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
18 (ROH) A zase keď pošle svoje slovo, topí to; keď zaveje svojím vetrom, tečú vody;
19 (KJV) He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
19 (ROH) oznamuje svoje slovo Jakobovi, svoje ustanovenia a svoje súdy Izraelovi.
20 (KJV) He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
20 (ROH) Neučinil tak niktorému národu, a preto neznajú jeho súdov. Hallelujah!

Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
Ž 33:1 - Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Ex 15:26 - And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
Jób 5:18 - For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
Iz 40:26 - Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
Ž 33:9 - For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
Verš 20
He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
Sk 14:16 - Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
Z 147 - Vulgáta rozdeľuje tento žalm na dva: 146 a 147.
Z 147,2 - "Stavia Jeruzalem" naznačuje, že žalm vznikol, keď exulanti po návrate zo zajatia obnovovali sväté mesto.
Z 147,9 - Žalmista spomína "mladé havrany". V minulosti bola všeobecná mienka, že havrany vyhadzujú svoje mláďatá z hniezda. Pán sa stará o všetko, čo stvoril.
Z 147,10 - Pán chce, aby sa aj človek naň spoliehal.
Z 147,13 - Pán "upevnil závory tvojich brán", tieto slová naznačujú, že mesto je obnovené a že Izraeliti žijú v istote, pokoji a blahobyte (Neh 2,11 -7,3), keď vzniká druhá časť žalmu.
Z 147,16-18 - Na Božie slovo prichádza sneh, srieň, kamenec, mráz. Lež na jeho jediné slovo sa rozpúšťa sneh a ľad a prichádza jar (Jób 37,6 n.; 38,29 n.; Iz 1,18). Možno to chápať ako metaforu, ktorou chcel žalmista naznačiť, ako rýchlo Pán zmenil osud svojho ľudu.
