(KJV - Anglický - King James)

Ž 144, 1-15

1 (KJV) Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
1 (ROH) Požehnaný Hospodin, moja skala, ktorý učí moje ruky bitke, moje prsty boju,

2 (KJV) My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
2 (ROH) moja milosť a môj hrad, moja vysoká veža, môj vysloboditeľ, môj štít; k nemu sa utiekam, ktorý mi podmaňuje môj ľud.

3 (KJV) LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

4 (KJV) Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.

5 (KJV) Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
5 (ROH) Hospodine, nakloň svoje nebesia a sostúp; dotkni sa vrchov, a budú sa kúriť.

6 (KJV) Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.
6 (ROH) Zablýskaj bleskom hromu a rozptýľ ich! Pošli svoje strely a predes ich!

7 (KJV) Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
7 (ROH) Vystri svoje ruky s výsosti, vysloboď ma a vytrhni z veľkých vôd, z ruky cudzozemcov,

8 (KJV) Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
8 (ROH) ktorých ústa hovoria márnosť, a ich pravica je pravicou lži.

9 (KJV) I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
9 (ROH) Bože, budem ti spievať novú pieseň; pri harfe o desiatich strunách ti budem spievať žalmy,

10 (KJV) It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

11 (KJV) Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:
11 (ROH) Vysloboď ma a vytrhni z ruky cudzozemcov, ktorých ústa hovoria márnosť, a ktorých pravica je pravicou lži,

12 (KJV) That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
12 (ROH) aby boli naši synovia ako rastúce štepy podarené vo svojej mladosti, naše dcéry jako uholné stĺpy, krásne tesané, vzoru chrámu;

13 (KJV) That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
13 (ROH) aby naše komory boly plné a vydávaly potravu rôzneho druhu; naše stádo aby rodilo na tisíce, na desaťtisíce na našich poliach.

14 (KJV) That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.

15 (KJV) Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
