1 (KJV) O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
1 (ROH) Oslavujte Hospodina! Vzývajte jeho meno! Oznamujte jeho skutky medzi národami!
2 (KJV) Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
2 (ROH) Spievajte mu, spievajte mu žalmy! Rozmýšľajte o všetkých jeho divoch!
3 (KJV) Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
3 (ROH) Chváľte sa menom jeho svätosti. Nech sa raduje srdce tých, ktorí hľadajú Hospodina!
4 (KJV) Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
4 (ROH) Hľadajte Hospodina a jeho silu; hľadajte jeho tvár ustavične!
5 (KJV) Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
5 (ROH) Pamätajte na jeho divy, ktoré učinil, na jeho zázraky a na súdy jeho úst,
6 (KJV) O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
6 (ROH) vy, semeno Abraháma, jeho služobníka, synovia Jakobovi, jeho vyvolení!
7 (KJV) He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
7 (ROH) On je Hospodin, náš Bôh; jeho súdy na celej zemi.
8 (KJV) He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
8 (ROH) Pamätá na veky, na svoju smluvu, na slovo, ktoré prikázal, na tisíc pokolení,
9 (KJV) Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
9 (ROH) na svoju smluvu, ktorú učinil s Abrahámom, a na svoju prísahu, ktorú prisahal Izákovi.
10 (KJV) And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
10 (ROH) A postavil to Jakobovi za ustanovenie, Izraelovi za večnú smluvu
11 (KJV) Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
11 (ROH) povediac: Tebe dám Kananejskú zem za podiel vášho dedičstva,
12 (KJV) When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
12 (ROH) vtedy, keď ich bol ešte len malý počet, keď ich bolo máličko, a boli v nej pohostínmi.
13 (KJV) When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
13 (ROH) A chodili od národa k národu a z kráľovstva k inému ľudu.
14 (KJV) He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
14 (ROH) Nedopustil niktorému človekovi, aby ich utiskoval, a karhal kráľov pre nich
15 (KJV) Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
15 (ROH) povediac: Nedotýkajte sa mojich pomazaných a mojim prorokom nerobte zlého!
16 (KJV) Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
16 (ROH) A keď privolal hlad na zem a polámal každú oporu chleba,
17 (KJV) He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
17 (ROH) poslal pred nimi znamenitého muža; Jozef bol predaný za sluhu.
18 (KJV) Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
18 (ROH) Sovreli jeho nohy putami; jeho duša sa dostala do železa,
19 (KJV) Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
19 (ROH) až do času, keď prišlo jeho slovo, dokiaľ ho nezkúsila reč Hospodinova jako oheň zlato.
20 (KJV) The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
20 (ROH) Vtedy poslal kráľ a prepustil ho, panovník národov, a rozviazal ho.
21 (KJV) He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
21 (ROH) Učinil ho pánom svojho domu a panovníkom nad celým svojím imaním,
22 (KJV) To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
22 (ROH) aby pútal jeho kniežatá podľa svojej vôle a jeho starcov vyučoval múdrosti.
23 (KJV) Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
23 (ROH) A tak prišiel Izrael do Egypta, a Jakob pohostínil v zemi Chámovej,
24 (KJV) And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
24 (ROH) kde veľmi plodným učinil Hospodin svoj ľud a učinil ho mocnejším nad jeho protivníkov.
25 (KJV) He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
25 (ROH) Prevrátil ich srdce, aby nenávideli jeho ľud, aby sa ľstivo chovali naproti jeho služobníkom.
26 (KJV) He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
26 (ROH) Poslal Mojžiša, svojho služobníka, Árona, ktorého si vyvolil.
27 (KJV) They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
27 (ROH) Predložil im slová jeho znamení a zázrakov v zemi Chámovej.
28 (KJV) He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
28 (ROH) Poslal tmu a zatmil, a nesprotivili sa jeho slovám.
29 (KJV) He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
29 (ROH) Obrátil ich vody na krv a usmrtil ich ryby.
30 (KJV) Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
30 (ROH) Ich zem sa hemžila žabami, a to aj v izbách ich kráľov.
31 (KJV) He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
31 (ROH) Povedal, a prišla smes žížaly, vši vo všetkých ich krajoch.
32 (KJV) He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
32 (ROH) Dal im miesto dažďa hrád, oheň horiaci plameňom, na ich zem.
33 (KJV) He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
33 (ROH) A zbil ich vinič a ich fík a polámal stromy ich kraja.
34 (KJV) He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
34 (ROH) Povedal, a prišly kobylky a chrústi v množstve bez počtu.
35 (KJV) And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
35 (ROH) A požraly všetku bylinu v ich zemi, jako aj požraly plody ich poľa.
36 (KJV) He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
36 (ROH) K tomu ešte pobil všetko prvorodené v ich zemi, prvotinu každej ich sily.
37 (KJV) He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
37 (ROH) A vyviedol ich so striebrom a zlatom, a nebolo v jeho pokoleniach takého, ktorý by bol klesal.
38 (KJV) Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
38 (ROH) Egypťania sa radovali, keď vychádzali; lebo padol na nich ich strach.
39 (KJV) He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
39 (ROH) Roztiahol oblak na zastretie a oheň, aby osvecoval noc.
40 (KJV) The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
40 (ROH) Keď si žiadal ľud, priviedol mu prepelice a sýtil ich chlebom z neba.
41 (KJV) He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
41 (ROH) Otvoril skalu, a tiekly vody; išly vypráhlou zemou jako rieka.
42 (KJV) For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
42 (ROH) Lebo pamätal na slovo svojej svätosti, na Abraháma, svojho služobníka.
43 (KJV) And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
43 (ROH) A tak vyviedol svoj ľud s veselosťou, s plesaním svojich vyvolených.
44 (KJV) And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
44 (ROH) Dal im zeme pohanov, a zdedili to, čo namáhavou prácou nadobudly národy,
45 (KJV) That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
45 (ROH) aby ostríhali jeho ustanovenia a zachovávali jeho zákony, Hallelujah!

Verš 3
Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
Ž 34:2 - My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.

He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
Ex 7:9 - When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.
Verš 42
For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
Gn 15:14 - And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
Z 105 - Témou žalmu sú slová 11. verša: "Tebe dám kanaánsku krajinu ako váš podiel dedičný." Žalmista ďakuje za vernosť a splnenie tohto prísľubu ako aj za mnohé iné dobrodenia, ktoré Boh preukázal svojmu ľudu pred zaujatím tejto krajiny.
Z 105,6 - Izraeliti sa volajú: "potomci Abraháma - synovia Jakuba".
Z 105,15 - "Mojich pomazaných… mojim prorokom" - myslí tu patriarchov, ktorí boli zvláštnym spôsobom zasvätení Bohu a dostali od neho zjavenie (porov. Gn 12,11-20; 20,1-18; 26,7-11).
Z 105,19 - "No potom došlo na jeho slová" (Gn 41,12-14).
Z 105,23 - "Jakub sa stal hosťom v Chámovej krajine", totižto v Egypte (Gn 10,6). Jakubovi potomci nikdy nesplynuli s Egypťanmi.
Z 105,28-38 - Egyptský kráľ sa dlho spriečal vôli Jahveho, nechcel prepustiť Izraelitov zo svojej krajiny. Boh potom zosiela desať rán. Žalmista z nich uvádza niekoľko.
Z 105,39 - Viedol ich viditeľným stĺpom ohňa za noci a oblačným stĺpom cez deň. Na púšti rozostrel "oblak, aby ich tak chránil" pred úpalom slnka (Ex 13,21; 14,19; 40,36 atď.). Reptajúcich netresce, kŕmi ich prepelicami (Ex 16,13; Nm 11,31 n.), dáva im "mannu", chlieb z neba (Ex 16,4; vysvetlenie pozri pri žalme 78,25).
Z 105,44 - Palestínu v tie časy obývali mnohé národy. Izraeliti sa zmocnili kanaánskych miest a dedín, polí a záhrad, viníc a olivových hájov, dobytka a všetkého majetku.
