Jób 12, 1-25

1 (CPDV) Then Job, answering, said:
1 (ROH) A Job odpovedal a riekol:

2 (CPDV) Are you, therefore, alone among men, and will wisdom die with you?
2 (ROH) Skutočná pravda, že ste vy ľudia, a že s vami zomrie múdrosť.

3 (CPDV) And I have a heart just as you also do, and I am not inferior to you. For who is ignorant of these things, which you know?
3 (ROH) I ja mám srdce, rozum, ako vy: neležím padlý ďalej od vás, a u koho by nebolo podobného poznania?

4 (CPDV) He who is mocked by his friends as I am, will call upon God, and he will listen to him because it is the sincerity of the just that is being mocked.

5 (CPDV) The lamp that is despised in the thoughts of the rich is ready for the appointed time.
5 (ROH) Opovrhnutou fakľou, podľa mienky toho, kto žije bezpečne, je ten, kto stojí blízko tých, ktorých noha klesá.

6 (CPDV) The tabernacles of robbers are numerous, and they provoke God boldly; whereas, it is he who has given all things into their hands.
6 (ROH) Bezstarostné sú stány lúpežníkov a nádejné tých, ktorí popudzujú silného Boha, tých, ktorých uvedie Bôh do svojej ruky.

7 (CPDV) In truth, ask the mules, and they will teach you, and the birds of the sky, and they will reveal to you.
7 (ROH) Ale nože sa opýtaj hoci hoväda, a poučí ťa, a nebeského vtáka, a oznámi ti,

8 (CPDV) Speak with the earth, and it will respond to you, and the fish of the sea will explain.
8 (ROH) alebo hovor zemi, a poučí ťa, a budú ti o tom rozprávať ryby mora.

9 (CPDV) Who is ignorant that the hand of the Lord has made all these things?
9 (ROH) Ktoré zo všetkého toho by nevedelo, že to učinila ruka Hospodinova?!

10 (CPDV) In his hand is the soul of all the living and the spirit of all the flesh of mankind.

11 (CPDV) Does not the ear perceive words, and the palate, when eating, perceive flavor?
11 (ROH) Či azda ucho nezkúša slov, ako ďasno si ochutnáva pokrm?

12 (CPDV) In old age is wisdom, and in length of days is prudence.

13 (CPDV) With him is wisdom and strength, he has counsel and understanding.

14 (CPDV) If he tears down, there is no one who can build up; if he encloses a man, there is no one who can open.
14 (ROH) Hľa, sborí, a nepostaví sa; zavrie človeka, a neotvorí sa.

15 (CPDV) If he restrains the waters, everything will dry up; and if he sends them forth, they will subdue the land.
15 (ROH) Hľa, zahatí vody, a vyschnú, a keď ich pošle, podvrátia zem.

16 (CPDV) With him is strength and wisdom; he knows both the deceiver and he who is deceived.

17 (CPDV) He leads advisors to a foolish end and judges to stupidity.
17 (ROH) Vodí radcov za sebou bosých a zo sudcov robí bláznov.

18 (CPDV) He removes the belt of kings and encircles their waist with a rope.

19 (CPDV) He leads away priests in dishonor and displaces nobles,
19 (ROH) Uvodí kňazov v nerozum a vyvracia mocných.

20 (CPDV) altering the lips of those who speak the truth and sweeping away the teaching of the aged.

21 (CPDV) He pours distain upon the leaders, relieving those who had been oppressed.
21 (ROH) Vylieva potupu na kniežatá a uvoľňuje opasok mocných.

22 (CPDV) He reveals the depths of the darkness, and he brings the shadow of death into the light.
22 (ROH) Odkrýva hlboké veci zo tmy a vyvodí tôňu smrti na svetlo.

23 (CPDV) He multiplies peoples, and destroys them, and, having been overthrown, he restores them anew.
23 (ROH) Zveličuje národy a hubí ich; rozširuje národy a zavodí ich.

24 (CPDV) He transforms the heart of the leaders of the people on earth, and misleads those who in vain advance upon the inviolable.
24 (ROH) Odníma srdce hlavám ľudu zeme a činí to, aby blúdili po púšti, tam, kde niet cesty.

25 (CPDV) They will grope as in the darkness, not the light, and he will make them stagger like drunkards.
