1 (KJV) O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

2 (KJV) Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
2 (ROH) Hospodine, náš Pane, jaké slávne je tvoje meno na celej zemi, ktorý si dal svoje veličenstvo na nebesiach!
3 (KJV) When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
3 (ROH) Z úst nemluvniat a tých, ktorí požívajú prsia, pripravil si moc pre svojich protivníkov, aby si umlčal nepriateľa a pomstiaceho sa.
4 (KJV) What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
4 (ROH) Keď vidím tvoje nebesia, dielo tvojich prstov, mesiac a hviezdy, ktoré si postavil,
5 (KJV) For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
5 (ROH) myslím si: Čo je smrteľný človek, že pamätáš na neho, a syn človeka, že ho navštevuješ!
6 (KJV) Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
6 (ROH) Učinil si ho málo menším než je Bôh; korunoval si ho slávou a cťou.
7 (KJV) All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
7 (ROH) Učinil si ho vládcom nad dielami svojich rúk; všetko si položil pod jeho nohy:
8 (KJV) The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
8 (ROH) ovce, voly, to všetko, áno, ešte i divú zver poľnú,
9 (KJV) O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
9 (ROH) nebeské vtáctvo a morské ryby - čo chodí stezkami mora.

10 (ROH) Hospodine, náš Pane, jaké slávne je tvoje meno na celej zemi!

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
Mt 21:16 - And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Jób 7:17 - What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?
Ž 144:3 - LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
Heb 2:6 - But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
1Kor 15:27 - For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
Z 8 - V ôsmom žalme nám žalmista zanechal vždy časovú pieseň. A čím viac sa ľudský um zahĺbi do tajov stvorenstva, čím viac sa zapoja kresťanské mysle do nadprirodzena, tým bude časovejší.
Z 8,3 - Ježiš Kristus cituje tento verš na ospravedlnenie detí, ktoré mu na Kvetnú nedeľu volali na slávu (Mt 21,16).
Z 8,6 - Človek, i keď je nepatrný svojím zjavom, je veľký - jeho veľkosť je od Boha: "Stvoril si ho len o niečo menšieho od anjelov." Človek je nekonečne menší od Boha, veď je jeho tvorom, ale je väčší než všetko viditeľné stvorenstvo, lebo má dušu, teda má rozum a slobodnú vôľu.
