Žalmy

1 (KJV) Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
1 (ROH) Náčelníkovi speváckeho sboru na nápev: Nezahub! Zlatý žalm Dávidov. Z času, keď bol Saul poslal svojich sluhov, ktorí striehli dom, aby ho zabili.

2 (KJV) Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
2 (ROH) Môj Bože, vytrhni ma od mojich nepriateľov, povýš ma nad tých, ktorí povstávajú proti mne!

3 (KJV) For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
3 (ROH) Vytrhni ma od tých, ktorí páchajú neprávosť, a zachráň ma od mužov krvi!

4 (KJV) They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.
4 (ROH) Lebo hľa, úkladia mojej duši; rotia sa proti mne mocní bez toho, že by som sa bol dopustil viny alebo hriechu, ó, Hospodine!

5 (KJV) Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
5 (ROH) Bez toho, že by som bol vykonal nejakú neprávosť, behajú a chystajú sa. Prebuď sa, vyjdi mi vústrety a vidz!

6 (KJV) They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
6 (ROH) A ty, Hospodine, Bože Zástupov, Bože Izraelov, precítni, aby si navštívil všetky národy! Nezľutuj sa nad niktorým z vierolomníkov, páchajúcich neprávosť. Sélah.

7 (KJV) Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
7 (ROH) Večer sa vracajú, brechajú ako pes a chodia okolo mesta.

8 (KJV) But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
8 (ROH) Hľa, breptajú svojimi ústy; meče sú v ich rtoch. Lebo veď vraj ktože počuje?!

9 (KJV) Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
9 (ROH) Ale ty, Hospodine, sa im smeješ, vysmievaš sa všetkým národom.

10 (KJV) The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
10 (ROH) Keď on prevádza svoju moc, ja mám obrátený svoj pozor na teba; lebo ty, Bože, si mojím vysokým hradom.

11 (KJV) Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
11 (ROH) Bôh mojej milosti ma predíde. Bôh mi dá vidieť pomstu nad mojimi nepriateľmi, ktorí ma strežú.

12 (KJV) For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
12 (ROH) Nepobi ich, aby nezabudol môj ľud. Spôsob to vo svojej moci, aby sa túlali a poníž ich, ty, náš štítu, náš Pane!

13 (KJV) Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
13 (ROH) Pre hriech svojich úst, pre slovo svojich rtov nech sú lapení vo svojej pýche a pre kliatbu a pre lož, ktorú rozprávajú.

14 (KJV) And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
14 (ROH) Učiň koniec vo svojom prchkom hneve, učiň im koniec, tak aby ich nebolo, a aby poznali, že Bôh panuje v Jakobovi, všade až do končín zeme. Sélah.

15 (KJV) Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.
15 (ROH) A tak tedy nech sa navrátia večer, nech brešú jako pes a behajú okolo mesta.

16 (KJV) But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
16 (ROH) Nech sa túlajú za pokrmom, a jestli sa nenasýtia, nech tak nocujú.

17 (KJV) Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.
17 (ROH) Ale ja budem ospevovať tvoju silu a hneď za rána budem plesajúc spievať o tvojej milosti, lebo si mi bol vysokým hradom a útočišťom v deň, keď mi bolo úzko.

18 (ROH) Moja silo! Tebe budem spievať žalmy! Pretože Bôh je mojím vysokým hradom, môj milostivý Bôh.
