Ž 31, 1-25

1 (UKJV) "In you, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in your righteousness. "
1 (ROH) Náčelníkovi speváckeho sboru. Žalm Dávidov.

2 (UKJV) "Bow down your ear to me; deliver me speedily: be you my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. "
2 (ROH) K tebe, Hospodine, sa utiekam, nedaj, aby som sa musel hanbiť, na veky! Vysloboď ma vo svojej spravedlivosti!

3 (UKJV) "For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your name's sake lead me, and guide me. "
3 (ROH) Nakloň ku mne svoje ucho! Rýchle ma vytrhni a buď mi pevnou skalou a ohradeným domom, aby si ma zachránil.

4 (UKJV) Pull me out of the net that they have laid privately for me: for you are my strength.
4 (ROH) Lebo mojou skalou a mojím hradom si ty, a pre svoje meno ma voď a sprevoď!

5 (UKJV) Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
5 (ROH) Vyveď ma zo siete, ktorú mi ukryli, lebo ty si mojou pevnosťou.

6 (UKJV) I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.
6 (ROH) Do tvojej ruky porúčam svojho ducha, lebo si ma vykúpil, Hospodine, Bože, silný a verný.

7 (UKJV) "I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy: for you have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities; "
7 (ROH) Nenávidím tých, ktorí pozorujú na ničomnú márnosť; ale ja sa nadejem na Hospodina.

8 (UKJV) And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: you have set my feet in a large room.
8 (ROH) Veseliť a radovať sa budem v tvojej milosti, pretože si videl moje trápenie; znal si v súžení moju dušu

9 (UKJV) Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.
9 (ROH) a nevydal si ma do ruky nepriateľa a postavil si moje nohy na priestranstve.

10 (UKJV) For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength fails because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
10 (ROH) Zmiluj sa nado mnou, Hospodine, lebo mi je úzko; moje oko zomdlelo od trápenia, moja duša i celé moje telo.

11 (UKJV) I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
11 (ROH) Lebo môj život hynie v žalosti, a moje roky unikajú vo vzdychaní; moja sila klesá pre moju neprávosť, a moje kosti práhnu.

12 (UKJV) I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
12 (ROH) Pre všetkých a tak mnohých svojich protivníkov som potupou, a svojmu súsedovi zvlášte, a postrachom svojim známym; tí, ktorí ma vonku vídavajú, utekajú predo mnou.

13 (UKJV) For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
13 (ROH) Zabudnutý som ako mŕtvy, ktorý vyšiel z pamäti; som ako nádoba, ktorá berie zkazu.

14 (UKJV) But I trusted in you, O LORD: I said, You are my God.
14 (ROH) Lebo som počul vravu mnohých, strach ho vraj obňal zo všetkých strán, keď sa spolu radili proti mne a snovali plány vziať moju dušu.

15 (UKJV) My times are in your hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
15 (ROH) Ale ja sa nadejem na teba, Hospodine; povedal som: Ty si môj Bôh.

16 (UKJV) Make your face to shine upon your servant: save me for your mercies' sake.
16 (ROH) V tvojej ruke sú moje časy. Vytrhni ma z ruky mojich nepriateľov a z moci tých, ktorí ma prenasledujú.

17 (UKJV) "Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon you: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. "
17 (ROH) Daj, aby svietila tvoja tvár na tvojho služobníka; zachráň ma vo svojej milosti!

18 (UKJV) "Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. "
18 (ROH) Hospodine, nedopusť, aby som sa musel hanbiť, lebo volám na teba. Nech sa hanbia bezbožníci, nech umĺknu, vrhnutí do pekla.

19 (UKJV) "Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you; which you have wrought for them that trust in you before the sons of men! "
19 (ROH) Nech zanemejú lživé rty, ktoré hovoria na spravedlivého tvrdé veci v pýche a v pohŕdaní.

20 (UKJV) You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
20 (ROH) Jaké veľké a mnohé je tvoje dobré, ktoré si ukryl pre tých, ktorí sa ťa boja, to, čo si učinil pre tých, ktorí sa utiekajú k tebe, pred synmi človeka!

21 (UKJV) Blessed be the LORD: for he has showed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.
21 (ROH) Skryješ ich v skrýši svojej tvári pred mätežou človeka; ukryješ ich vo svojom stáne pred svárom jazykov.

22 (UKJV) For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried unto you.
22 (ROH) Požehnaný Hospodin, lebo mi učinil predivnú milosť v ohradenom meste.

23 (UKJV) O love the LORD, all you his saints: for the LORD perserves the faithful, and plentifully rewards the proud doer.
23 (ROH) Ale ja som bol povedal vo svojom predesení: Odrezaný som zpred tvojich očí. Avšak ty si počul hlas mojich pokorných prosieb, keď som volal na teba o pomoc.

24 (UKJV) Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD.
24 (ROH) Milujte Hospodina, všetci jeho svätí, lebo Hospodin ostríha verných a hojne odpláca tomu, ktorý robí pýchu.

25 ----
25 (ROH) Buďte zmužilí, a on posilní vaše srdce, všetci vy, ktorí očakávate na Hospodina!

Verš 19

"Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you; which you have wrought for them that trust in you before the sons of men! "

Iz 64:4 - For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, beside you, what he has prepared for him that waits for him.

1Kor 2:9 - But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him.

Verš 1

"In you, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in your righteousness. "

Ž 22:5 - They cried unto you, and were delivered: they trusted in you, and were not confounded.

Ž 25:2 - O my God, I trust in you: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Ž 71:1 - In you, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

Iz 49:23 - "And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. "

Verš 11

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

Jób 19:13 - He has put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily cut off from me.

Ž 38:11 - "My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand far off. "

Verš 5

Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

Lk 23:46 - And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into your hands I commend my spirit: (o. pneuma) and having said thus, he gave up the spirit.

Verš 24

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD.

Ž 27:14 - Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Z 31 - Táto modlitba je veľmi blízka Jeremiášovým vyznaniam.

Z 31,2 - Žalmista si aj v ťažkom položení zachoval jasný pohľad k Pánovi, nikdy ho neopúšťa dôvera v Božiu pomoc; Ježiš Kristus, umierajúc na kríži, hovorí slová 6. verša tohto žalmu (Lk 23,46); poznal ich aj sv. Štefan, prvomučeník (Sk 7,59).

Z 31,9 - "Na šíre priestranstvo" - vyviedol si ma z úzkych.

Z 31,10-11 - Tieto verše nám kreslia aj Ježišovo utrpenie.
