Gn 2, 1-25

1 (CPDV) And so the heavens and the earth were completed, with all their adornment.
1 (ROH) A dokonané boly nebesia i zem i všetko ich vojsko.

2 (CPDV) And on the seventh day, God fulfilled his work, which he had made. And on the seventh day he rested from all his work, which he had accomplished.

3 (CPDV) And he blessed the seventh day and sanctified it. For in it, he had ceased from all his work: the work whereby God created whatever he should make.
3 (ROH) A Bôh požehnal siedmy deň a posvätil ho, lebo v ňom si odpočinul od všetkého svojho diela, ktoré stvoril Bôh činiac.

4 (CPDV) These are the generations of heaven and earth, when they were created, in the day when the Lord God made heaven and earth,
4 (ROH) To sú rody nebies a zeme, keď boly stvorené, v deň, v ktorom činil Hospodin Bôh zem i nebesia.

5 (CPDV) and every sapling of the field, before it would rise up in the land, and every wild plant, before it would germinate. For the Lord God had not brought rain upon the earth, and there was no man to work the land.
5 (ROH) A ešte nebolo nijakého chrastia poľného na zemi, ani ešte nebola narástla nijaká poľná bylina, lebo Hospodin Bôh ešte nebol dal, aby pršalo na zem, ani nebolo človeka, aby bol obrábal zem.

6 (CPDV) But a fountain ascended from the earth, irrigating the entire surface of the land.
6 (ROH) Ale para vystupovala zo zeme a zvlažovala celú tvár zeme.

7 (CPDV) And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and he breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
7 (ROH) A Hospodin Bôh utvoril Adama, človeka, vezmúc prach zo zeme a vdýchnul do jeho nozdier dych života, a človek sa stal živou dušou.

8 (CPDV) Now the Lord God had planted a Paradise of enjoyment from the beginning. In it, he placed the man whom he had formed.
8 (ROH) A Hospodin Bôh vysadil zahradu čiže raj v Édene, od východu, a tam postavil človeka, ktorého utvoril.

9 (CPDV) And from the soil the Lord God produced every tree that was beautiful to behold and pleasant to eat. And even the tree of life was in the midst of Paradise, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
9 (ROH) A Hospodin Bôh dal, aby vyrástol zo zeme všelijaký strom žiadúcny na pohľad a ovocím dobrý na jedenie, a strom života prostred raja ako aj strom vedenia dobrého i zlého.

10 (CPDV) And a river went forth from the place of enjoyment so as to irrigate Paradise, which is divided from there into four heads.

11 (CPDV) The name of one is the Phison; it is that which runs through all the land of Hevilath, where gold is born;
11 (ROH) Meno jednej je Píšon; tá obchádza celú zem Chavila, kde je zlato.

12 (CPDV) and the gold of that land is the finest. In that place is found bdellium and the onyx stone.
12 (ROH) A zlato tej zeme je výborné; tam sa nachodí bdelium i kameň onyx.

13 (CPDV) And the name of the second river is the Gehon; it is that which runs through all the land of Ethiopia.
13 (ROH) A meno druhej rieky je Gichon; tá obchádza celú zem Kúšovu.

14 (CPDV) Truly, the name of the third river is the Tigris; it advances opposite the Assyrians. But the fourth river, it is the Euphrates.
14 (ROH) A meno tretej rieky je Hidekel; tá tečie naproti Asýrii. A štvrtá rieka je Eufrates.

15 (CPDV) Thus, the Lord God brought the man, and put him into the Paradise of enjoyment, so that it would be attended and preserved by him.
15 (ROH) A Hospodin Bôh vzal človeka a umiestnil ho v zahrade Édena, aby ju obrábal a mal na ňu pozor.

16 (CPDV) And he instructed him, saying: “From every tree of Paradise, you shall eat.
16 (ROH) A Hospodin Bôh prikázal človekovi a riekol: Z ktoréhokoľvek stromu rajského budeš slobodne jesť,

17 (CPDV) But from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat. For in whatever day you will eat from it, you will die a death.”
17 (ROH) ale zo stromu vedenia dobrého a zlého nebudeš jesť, lebo toho dňa, ktorého by si jedol z neho, istotne zomrieš.

18 (CPDV) The Lord God also said: “It is not good for the man to be alone. Let us make a helper for him similar to himself.”

19 (CPDV) Therefore, the Lord God, having formed from the soil all the animals of the earth and all the flying creatures of the air, brought them to Adam, in order to see what he would call them. For whatever Adam would call any living creature, that would be its name.

20 (CPDV) And Adam called each of the 3 living things by their names: all the flying creatures of the air, and all the wild beasts of the land. Yet truly, for Adam, there was not found a helper similar to himself.
20 (ROH) A Adam, človek, dal všetkým mená, každému hovädu a nebeskému vtákovi a každému zvieraťu poľnému, ale Adamovi sa nenašla pomoc, ktorá by bola bývala jemu roveň.

21 (CPDV) And so the Lord God sent a deep sleep upon Adam. And when he was fast asleep, he took one of his ribs, and he completed it with flesh for it.
21 (ROH) A Hospodin Bôh dal, aby padol na Adama tvrdý spánok a usnul. A vzal jedno z jeho rebier a jeho miesto zavrel mäsom.

22 (CPDV) And the Lord God built up the rib, which he took from Adam, into a woman. And he led her to Adam.
22 (ROH) A Hospodin Bôh vybudoval rebro, ktoré vzal z Adama, v ženu, a doviedol ju k Adamovi.

23 (CPDV) And Adam said: “Now this is bone from my bones, and flesh from my flesh. This one shall be called woman, because she was taken from man.”

24 (CPDV) For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.
24 (ROH) Preto opustí muž svojho otca a svoju mať a bude ľnúť ku svojej žene, a budú jedno telo.

25 (CPDV) Now they were both naked: Adam, of course, and his wife. And they were not ashamed.

Gn 2, 1-25

Verš 2
And on the seventh day, God fulfilled his work, which he had made. And on the seventh day he rested from all his work, which he had accomplished.
Ex 20:11 - For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all the things that are in them, and so he rested on the seventh day. For this reason, the Lord has blessed the day of the 42 Sabbath and sanctified it.
Ex 31:17 - between me and the sons of Israel, and a perpetual sign. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and in the seventh he ceased from work.”
Dt 5:14 - The seventh is the day of the Sabbath, that is, the rest of the Lord your God. You shall not do any work in it, nor shall your son, nor daughter, nor man servant, nor woman servant, nor ox, nor donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor the sojourner who is within your gates, so that your men and woman servants may rest, just as you do.
Heb 4:4 - For, in a certain place, he spoke about the seventh day in this manner: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”

Verš 7
And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and he breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
1Kor 15:47 - The first man, being earthly, was of the earth; the second man, being heavenly, will be of heaven.
1Kor 15:45 - Just as it was written that the first man, Adam, was made with a living soul, so shall the last Adam be made with a spirit brought back to life.

Verš 9
And from the soil the Lord God produced every tree that was beautiful to behold and pleasant to eat. And even the tree of life was in the midst of Paradise, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Zjv 2:7 - Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who prevails, I will give to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of my God.

Verš 22
And the Lord God built up the rib, which he took from Adam, into a woman. And he led her to Adam.
1Kor 11:8 - For man is not of woman, but woman is of man.

Verš 23
And Adam said: “Now this is bone from my bones, and flesh from my flesh. This one shall be called woman, because she was taken from man.”
Mal 2:14 - And you have said, “What is the reason for this?” It is because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, whom you have despised. Yet she was your partner, and the wife of your covenant.
Ef 5:30 - For we are a part of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.

Verš 24
For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.
Mt 19:5 - “For this reason, a man shall separate from father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife, and these two shall become one flesh.
Mk 10:7 - Because of this, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife.
Ef 5:31 - “For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.”
1Kor 6:16 - And do you not know that whoever is joined to a harlot becomes one body? “For the two,” he said, “shall be as one flesh.”
Ef 5:28 - So, too, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Verš 25
Now they were both naked: Adam, of course, and his wife. And they were not ashamed.
Gn 3:7 - And the eyes of them both were opened. And when they realized themselves to be naked, they joined together fig leaves and made coverings for themselves.

Gn 2,3 - Šesť biblických dní je šesť časových rozpätí. Deň je ohraničený večerom a ránom. Biblický deň sa teda začína ráno a končí sa opäť ráno. Avšak toto ohraničenie jednotlivých diel Božích dňami je úmyselne volené, lebo svätopisec šiestimi dňami Božej práce chce dať príklad svojim súkmeňovcom, aby šesť dní pracovali a v siedmy odpočívali a zasvätili ho: "Spomni na sobotňajší deň, aby si ho zasvätil" (Ex 20,8–11).

Gn 2,4 - Úsek 2,4b – 3,24 obsahuje správu Jahvistického prameňa-dokumentu o stvorení človeka, ktorú autor Gn prikladá k prvej správe o stvorení sveta a človeka.

Tam, kde pramenia tieto dve rieky. Rieky Pišon a Gihon a krajinu Havilah nemožno geograficky určiť.
