Gn 2, 1-25

1 (CPDV) And so the heavens and the earth were completed, with all their adornment.
1 (KAT) Takto boli ukončené nebo a zem, a všetky ich voje.

2 (CPDV) And on the seventh day, God fulfilled his work, which he had made. And on the seventh day he rested from all his work, which he had accomplished.

3 (CPDV) And he blessed the seventh day and sanctified it. For in it, he had ceased from all his work: the work whereby God created whatever he should make.

4 (CPDV) These are the generations of heaven and earth, when they were created, in the day when the Lord God made heaven and earth,
4 (KAT) Taký je pôvod neba a zeme, keď boli stvorené. V tom čase, keď Pán, Boh, urobil zem a nebo,

5 (CPDV) and every sapling of the field, before it would rise up in the land, and every wild plant, before it would germinate. For the Lord God had not brought rain upon the earth, and there was no man to work the land.
5 (KAT) nebolo ešte na zemi nijaké poľné krovie a nepučala ešte ani poľná tráva, lebo Pán, Boh, nedal pršať na zem a nebolo ani človeka, ktorý by obrábal zem

6 (CPDV) But a fountain ascended from the earth, irrigating the entire surface of the land.
6 (KAT) a privádzal na zem vodu (kanálov) a zavlažoval celý povrch zeme.

7 (CPDV) And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and he breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
7 (KAT) Vtedy Pán, Boh, utvoril z hliny zeme človeka a vdýchol do jeho nozdier dych života. Tak sa stal človek živou bytosťou.

8 (CPDV) Now the Lord God had planted a Paradise of enjoyment from the beginning. In it, he placed the man whom he had formed.
8 (KAT) Potom Pán, Boh, vysadil na východe, v Edene, raj a tam umiestnil človeka, ktorého utvoril.

9 (CPDV) And from the soil the Lord God produced every tree that was beautiful to behold and pleasant to eat. And even the tree of life was in the midst of Paradise, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
9 (KAT) A Pán, Boh, dal vyrásť zo zeme stromom všetkých druhov, na pohľad krásnym a na jedenie chutným, i stromu života v strede raja a stromu poznania dobra a zla.

10 (CPDV) And a river went forth from the place of enjoyment so as to irrigate Paradise, which is divided from there into four heads.
10 (KAT) Z Edenu vytekala rieka, ktorá mala zavlažovať raj, a rozdeľovala sa odtiaľ a tvorila štyri toky.

11 (CPDV) The name of one is the Phison; it is that which runs through all the land of Hevilath, where gold is born;
11 (KAT) Meno prvého je Pišon. To je ten, čo obteká celú krajinu Havilah, kde sa vyskytuje zlato,

12 (CPDV) and the gold of that land is the finest. In that place is found bdellium and the onyx stone.

13 (CPDV) And the name of the second river is the Gehon; it is that which runs through all the land of Ethiopia.
13 (KAT) Meno druhej rieky je Gihon. Tá obteká celú zem Kuš.

14 (CPDV) Truly, the name of the third river is the Tigris; it advances opposite the Assyrians. But the fourth river, it is the Euphrates.
14 (KAT) Meno tretej je Hidekel (Tigris). Tá tečie naproti Asýrii. A štvrtá rieka je Perát (Eufrat).

15 (CPDV) Thus, the Lord God brought the man, and put him into the Paradise of enjoyment, so that it would be attended and preserved by him.
15 (KAT) I vzal Pán, Boh, človeka a umiestnil ho v raji Edenu, aby ho obrábal a strážil.

16 (CPDV) And he instructed him, saying: “From every tree of Paradise, you shall eat.
16 (KAT) A Pán, Boh, prikázal človekovi: „Zo všetkých stromov raja môžeš jesť.

17 (CPDV) But from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat. For in whatever day you will eat from it, you will die a death.”
17 (KAT) Zo stromu poznania dobra a zla však nejedz! Lebo v deň, keď by si z neho jedol, istotne zomrieš.“

18 (CPDV) The Lord God also said: “It is not good for the man to be alone. Let us make a helper for him similar to himself.”
18 (KAT) Potom Pán, Boh, povedal: „Nie je dobre byť človeku samému. Urobím mu pomoc, ktorá mu bude podobná.“

19 (CPDV) Therefore, the Lord God, having formed from the soil all the animals of the earth and all the flying creatures of the air, brought them to Adam, in order to see what he would call them. For whatever Adam would call any living creature, that would be its name.

20 (CPDV) And Adam called each of the 3 living things by their names: all the flying creatures of the air, and all the wild beasts of the land. Yet truly, for Adam, there was not found a helper similar to himself.
20 (KAT) A nazval Adam menom všetok dobytok, všetko nebeské vtáctvo a všetku poľnú zver.

21 (CPDV) And so the Lord God sent a deep sleep upon Adam. And when he was fast asleep, he took one of his ribs, and he completed it with flesh for it.
21 (KAT) Tu Pán, Boh, dopustil na Adama tvrdý spánok, a keď zaspal, vybral mu jedno rebro a jeho miesto zaplnil mäsom.

22 (CPDV) And the Lord God built up the rib, which he took from Adam, into a woman. And he led her to Adam.
22 (KAT) A z rebra, ktoré vybral Adamovi, utvoril Pán, Boh, ženu a priviedol ju k Adamovi.

23 (CPDV) And Adam said: “Now this is bone from my bones, and flesh from my flesh. This one shall be called woman, because she was taken from man.”

24 (CPDV) For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.
24 (KAT) Preto muž opustí svojho otca i svoju matku a prilipne k svojej manželke, a budú jedným telom.

25 (CPDV) Now they were both naked: Adam, of course, and his wife. And they were not ashamed.
25 (KAT) A obaja, Adam i jeho žena, boli nahí a nehanbili sa jeden pred druhým.

Gn 2, 1-25

Verš 2
And on the seventh day, God fulfilled his work, which he had made. And on the seventh day he rested from all his work, which he had accomplished.
Ex 20:11 - For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all the things that are in them, and so he rested on the seventh day. For this reason, the Lord has blessed the day of the 42 Sabbath and sanctified it.
Ex 31:17 - between me and the sons of Israel, and a perpetual sign. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and in the seventh he ceased from work.”
Dt 5:14 - The seventh is the day of the Sabbath, that is, the rest of the Lord your God. You shall not do any work in it, nor shall your son, nor daughter, nor man servant, nor woman servant, nor ox, nor donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor the sojourner who is within your gates, so that your men and woman servants may rest, just as you do.
Heb 4:4 - For, in a certain place, he spoke about the seventh day in this manner: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”

Verš 7
And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and he breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
1Kor 15:47 - The first man, being earthly, was of the earth; the second man, being heavenly, will be of heaven.
1Kor 15:45 - Just as it was written that the first man, Adam, was made with a living soul, so shall the last Adam be made with a spirit brought back to life.

Verš 9
And from the soil the Lord God produced every tree that was beautiful to behold and pleasant to eat. And even the tree of life was in the midst of Paradise, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Zjv 2:7 - Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who prevails, I will give to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of my God.

Verš 22
And the Lord God built up the rib, which he took from Adam, into a woman. And he led her to Adam.
1Kor 11:8 - For man is not of woman, but woman is of man.

Verš 23
And Adam said: “Now this is bone from my bones, and flesh from my flesh. This one shall be called woman, because she was taken from man.”
Mal 2:14 - And you have said, “What is the reason for this?” It is because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, whom you have despised. Yet she was your partner, and the wife of your covenant.
Ef 5:30 - For we are a part of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.

Verš 24
For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.
Mt 19:5 - “For this reason, a man shall separate from father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife, and these two shall become one flesh.
Mk 10:7 - Because of this, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife.
Ef 5:31 - “For this reason, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife; and the two shall be as one flesh.”
1Kor 6:16 - And do you not know that whoever is joined to a harlot becomes one body? “For the two,” he said, “shall be as one flesh.”
Ef 5:28 - So, too, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Verš 25
Now they were both naked: Adam, of course, and his wife. And they were not ashamed.
Gn 3:7 - And the eyes of them both were opened. And when they realized themselves to be naked, they joined together fig leaves and made coverings for themselves.

Gn 2,3 - Šesť biblických dní je šesť časových rozpätí. Deň je ohraničený večerom a ránom. Biblický deň sa teda začína ráno a končí sa opäť ráno. Avšak toto ohraničenie jednotlivých diel Božích dňami je úmyselne volené, lebo svätopisec šiestimi dňami Božej práce chce dať príklad svojim súkmeňovcom, aby šesť dní pracovali a v siedmy odpočívali a zasvätili ho: "Spomni na sobotňajší deň, aby si ho zasvätil" (Ex 20,8–11).

Gn 2,4 - Úsek 2,4b – 3,24 obsahuje správu Jahvistického prameňa-dokumentu o stvorení človeka, ktorú autor Gn prikladá k prvej správe o stvorení sveta a človeka.

Tam, kde pramenia tieto dve rieky. Rieky Pišon a Gihon a krajinu Havilah nemožno geograficky určiť.
