Joz 1, 1-18

1 (CPDV) And after the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, it happened that the Lord spoke to Joshua, the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, and he said to him:
1 (ROH) A stalo sa po smrti Mojžiša, služobníka Hospodinovho, že takto povedal Hospodin Jozuovi, synovi Núnovmu, sluhovi Mojžišovmu:

2 (CPDV) “Moses, my servant, has died. Rise up, and cross this Jordan, you and all the people with you, into the land which I will give to the sons of Israel.
2 (ROH) Mojžiš, môj služobník zomrel; preto teraz vstaň a prejdi cez tento Jordán, ty i všetok tento ľud, do zeme, ktorú im ja dám, synom Izraelovým.

3 (CPDV) I will deliver to you every place that the step of your foot will tread upon, 116 just as I said to Moses.

4 (CPDV) From the desert and from Lebanon, even to the great river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, as far as the great sea opposite the setting of the sun, shall be your border.

5 (CPDV) No one will be able to resist you during all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so will I be with you. I will not leave you, nor will I forsake you.

6 (CPDV) Be strengthened and be steadfast. For you shall divide by lot, to this people, the land about which I swore to their fathers that I would deliver it to them.
6 (ROH) Buď silný a pevný, lebo ty rozdelíš tomuto ľudu do dedičstva zem, o ktorej som prisahal ich otcom, že im ju dám.

7 (CPDV) Therefore, be strengthened and be very steadfast, so that you may observe and accomplish the entire law, which Moses, my servant, instructed to you. You may not turn aside from it to the right, nor to the left. So may you understand all that you should do.
7 (ROH) Len buď silný a pevný veľmi ostríhať, aby si činil všetko podľa celého zákona, ktorý ti prikázal Mojžiš, môj služobník.

8 (CPDV) The book of this law shall not depart from your mouth. Instead, you shall meditate upon it, day and night, so that you may observe and do all the things that are written in it. Then you shall direct your way and understand it.
8 (ROH) Neuhne táto kniha zákona od tvojich úst, ale budeš rozmýšľať o nej vodne i vnoci, aby si ostríhal a činil všetko podľa všetkého toho, čo je napísané v nej, lebo vtedy sa ti podarí tvoja cesta, a vtedy budeš robiť múdre a rozumne.

9 (CPDV) Behold, I am instructing you. Be strengthened, and be steadfast. Do not dread, and do not fear. For the Lord your God is with you in all things, wherever you may go.”
9 (ROH) Lebo veď či som ti neprikázal: Buď silný a pevný! Netras sa ani sa nestrachuj!? Lebo s tebou je Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, vo všetkom a všade, kamkoľvek pojdeš.

10 (CPDV) And Joshua instructed the leaders of the people, saying: “Cross through the midst of the camp, and command the people, and say:
10 (ROH) A Jozua prikázal správcom ľudu a povedal:

11 (CPDV) ‘Prepare your food supplies. For after the third day, you shall cross the Jordan, and you shall enter so as to possess the land, which the Lord your God will give to you.’ ”
11 (ROH) Prejdite stredom tábora a prikážte ľudu povediac: Nachystajte si potravy, lebo po troch dňoch prejdete cez tento Jordán, aby ste vošli ta a zaujali do dedičstva zem, ktorú vám dá Hospodin, váš Bôh, aby ste ju tedy zaujali do dedičstva.

12 (CPDV) Likewise, he said to the Reubenites and to the Gadites, and to the one half tribe of Manasseh:
12 (ROH) A Rúbenovcom, Gádovcom a polovici pokolenia Manassesovho povedal Jozua:

13 (CPDV) “Remember the words, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, instructed to you, saying: ‘The Lord your God has given you rest, and has given you all the land.’
13 (ROH) Pamätať na slovo, ktoré vám prikázal Mojžiš, služobník Hospodinov, keď povedal: Hospodin, váš Bôh, vám dal odpočinok dajúc vám túto zem.

14 (CPDV) Your wives and sons, as well as the cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses delivered to you beyond the Jordan. But as for you, pass over with weapons, before your brothers, all you who are strong of hand, and fight on their behalf,
14 (ROH) Vaše ženy, vaše deti a váš dobytok zostanú v zemi, ktorú vám dal Mojžiš z tejto strany Jordána a vy pojdete pripravení do boja na druhú stranu pred svojimi bratmi, všetci udatní mužovia silní a pomôžete im,

15 (CPDV) until the Lord gives rest to your brothers, just as he has given to you, and until they also possess the land, which the Lord your God will give to them. And so shall you be returned to the land of your possession. And you shall live in the land, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave to you beyond the Jordan, opposite the rising of the sun.”
15 (ROH) dokiaľ nedá Hospodin odpočinutia i vašim bratom, ako dal vám, a dokiaľ nezaujmú aj oni do dedičstva zeme, ktorú im dá Hospodin, váš Bôh. Potom sa vrátite do zeme svojho dedičstva a budete ňou vládnuť dedične, zemou, ktorú vám dal Mojžiš, služobník Hospodinov, tuto za Jordánom. na východ slnka.

16 (CPDV) And they responded to Joshua, and they said: “All that you have instructed to us, we shall do. And wherever you will send us, we shall go.
16 (ROH) Na to odpovedali Jozuovi a riekli: Všetko, čo si nám prikázal, učiníme a pojdeme všade, kamkoľvek nás pošleš.

17 (CPDV) Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so shall we obey you also. But may the Lord your God be with you, just as he was with Moses.

18 (CPDV) Whoever will contradict your mouth, and whoever will not obey all of your words, which you will instruct to him, let him die. But may you be strengthened, and may you act manfully.”
18 (ROH) Ktokoľvek by sa sprotivil tvojmu rozkazu a neposlúchol by tvojich slov, nech by išlo o čokoľvek, čo by si mu prikázal, zomrie. Len buď silný a pevný.

Joz 1,1 - O smrti Mojžišovej a národnom smútku pozri Nm 20,12; Dt 32,48.51; 34, 4 n.7 n. Po Mojži šovi vedenie izraelského národa preberá Jozue (Nm 27,18 nn.). Jozue – hebr.

Joz 1,12-15 - O rozdelení Zajordán ska medzi Rubenovcov, Gadovcov a polovicu kmeňa Manassesa pozri Nm 32.
