The brothers who were at Lystra and Iconium rendered good testimony to him.

Sk 16,3 - Obriezka mala Timotejovi uľahčiť pôsobenie medzi Židmi.
Sk 16,6 - Ázia tu znamená západnú časť Malej Ázie v okolí Efezu a Smyrny. Frýgia bola na anatolskej náhornej rovine smerom na západ. Galácia bola pravdepodobne severná Galácia, územie okolo dnešnej Ankary.
Sk 16,7 - Mýzia bola severná časť Malej Ázie. Bitýnia bola v severozápadnej časti Malej Ázie.
Sk 16,8-9 - Troas bolo prístavné mesto v severozápadnej maloázijskej krajine toho istého mena (kedysi slávna Trója). V Macedónsku, s hlavným mestom Solúnom, Pavol na druhej misijnej ceste založil tri významné kresťanské obce: Filipy, Solún a Bereu.
Sk 16,10 - Od tohto verša autor začína používať pri písaní prvú osobu množného čísla. Tu sa pravdepodobne Lukáš pripojil k Pavlovi.
Sk 16,11 - Samotrácia je ostrov na polceste medzi Troadou a Neapolom. Neapol bol macedónsky prístav (dnes Kavalla). Tu Pavol vstúpil prvý raz na európsku pevninu.
Sk 16,12 - Filipy boli 17 km od Neapola smerom do vnútrozemia. Rímski cisári tu usádzali vojenských vyslúžilcov a italských kolonistov.
Sk 16,13 - "Za bránu k rieke", t. j. za bránu mesta. Podľa židovských predpisov tam, kde žilo aspoň desať Židov, mala sa postaviť synagóga alebo aspoň mali sa schádzať na takom mieste, kde bola voda. Preto sa Pavol odobral k rieke.
Sk 16,14 - Tyatira bolo maloázijské mesto v končinách Mýzie a Lýdie.
Sk 16,16 - Bola posadnutá zlým duchom, ktorý jej ústami vyjavoval niektoré skryté veci.
Sk 16,17 - Týmto veršom Lukáš prestáva na čas písať v prvej osobe množného čísla. Je možné, že ostal vo Filipách.
Sk 16,22 - Ide o prvé prenasledovanie zo strany rímskej vrchnosti.
