1Sam 1, 1-28

1 (CPDV) There was a certain man from Ramah of Zophim, on Mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.
1 (ROH) A bol nejaký muž z Ramataim-cofíma, s vrchu Efraimovho, ktorému bolo meno Elkána, syn Jerocháma, syna Elihu-va, syna Tochu-va, syna Cúfovho, Efraťan.

2 (CPDV) And he had two wives: the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the second was Peninnah. And Peninnah had sons. But Hannah did not have children.
2 (ROH) Ten mal dve ženy; jednej bolo meno Anna, a meno druhej bolo Peninna. Peninna mala deti, ale Anna nemala detí.

3 (CPDV) And this man went up from his city, on the established days, so that he might adore and sacrifice to the Lord of hosts at Shiloh. Now the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, priests of the Lord, were in that place.
3 (ROH) Človek chodieval z roka na rok zo svojho mesta hore klaňať sa a obetovať Hospodinovi Zástupov bitnú obeť v Síle, kde boli dvaja synovia Éliho, Chofni a Pinchas, kňazmi Hospodinovi.

4 (CPDV) Then the day arrived, and Elkanah immolated. And he gave portions to his wife Peninnah, and to all her sons and daughters.
4 (ROH) A bývalo vše toho dňa, keď obetoval Elkána bitnú obeť, že dal Peninne, svojej žene, i všetkým jej synom i jej dcéram diely.

5 (CPDV) But to Hannah he gave one portion with sorrow. For he loved Hannah, but the Lord had closed her womb.
5 (ROH) Ale Anne dal dvojnásobný diel, lebo Annu miloval. Lež Hospodin bol zavrel jej život.

6 (CPDV) And her rival afflicted her and vehemently distressed her, to a great extent, for she 147 rebuked her that the Lord had closed her womb.
6 (ROH) A jej protivnica ju veľmi popudzovala, aby ju rozrušovala, pretože Hospodin bol zavrel je život.

7 (CPDV) And she did so every year, when the time returned for them to ascend to the temple of the Lord. And she provoked her in this way. And so, she wept and did not take food.
7 (ROH) Tak robieval Elkána každého roku, kedykoľvek išla hore do domu Hospodinovho, a tamtá ju vždy tak popudzovala, a ona plakávala a nejedávala.

8 (CPDV) Therefore, her husband Elkanah said to her: “Hannah, why are you weeping? And why do you not eat? And for what reason do you afflict your heart? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”
8 (ROH) A Elkána jej muž, jej povedal: Anna, prečo plačeš? A prečo neješ? A prečo je smutné tvoje srdce? Či nie som ti ja lepší ako desať synov?

9 (CPDV) And so, after she ate and drank at Shiloh, Hannah rose up. And Eli, the priest, was sitting on the seat before the door of the temple of the Lord.
9 (ROH) A Anna vstala, keď boli jedli v Síle a keď boli pili.

10 (CPDV) And since Hannah was bitter in soul, she prayed to the Lord, weeping greatly.

11 (CPDV) And she made a vow, saying, “O Lord of hosts, if, in looking with favor, you will see the affliction of your servant and will remember me, and will not forget your handmaid, and if you will give to your servant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall pass over his head.”

12 (CPDV) Then it happened that, while she multiplied prayers before the Lord, Eli observed her mouth.

13 (CPDV) For Hannah was speaking in her heart, and only her lips moved, and her voice was barely heard. Therefore, Eli considered her to be drunk,

14 (CPDV) and so he said to her: “How long will you be inebriated? You should take only a little wine, but instead you are drenched.”
14 (ROH) A Éli jej povedal: Dokedyže budeš opilá? Vytriezvej zo svojho vína!

15 (CPDV) Responding, Hannah said: “By no means, my lord. For I am an exceedingly unhappy woman, and I drank neither wine, nor anything that can inebriate. Instead, I have poured out my soul in the sight of the Lord.
15 (ROH) Ale Anna odpovedala a riekla: Nie som ja opilá, môj pane; som žena utrápeného ducha a vína ani nijakého opojného nápoja som nepila, ale vylievam svoju dušu pred Hospodinom.

16 (CPDV) You should not repute your handmaid as one of the daughters of Belial. For I have been speaking from the abundance of my sorrow and grief, even until now.”
16 (ROH) Nepovažuj svojej dievky za dcéru beliála, lebo z mnohého svojho úpenia a z veľkého svojho zármutku som hovorila až doteraz.

17 (CPDV) Then Eli said to her: “Go in peace. And may the God of Israel grant to you your petition, which you have begged of him.”
17 (ROH) Na to odpovedal Éli a riekol: Idi v pokoji, a Bôh Izraelov nech ti dá to, čo si prosila od neho.

18 (CPDV) And she said, “I wish that your handmaid may find grace in your eyes.” And the woman went on her way, and she ate, and her countenance was no longer changed for the worse.
18 (ROH) A riekla: Nech najde tvoja dievka milosť v tvojich očiach. A žena išla svojou cestou a najedla sa, a jej tvár nebola viacej smutná.

19 (CPDV) And they rose up in the morning, and they worshipped before the Lord. And they returned and arrived at their own house at Ramah. Then Elkanah knew his wife Hannah. And the Lord remembered her.

20 (CPDV) And it happened that, in the course of days, Hannah conceived and bore a son. And she called his name Samuel, because she had requested him from the Lord.
20 (ROH) A stalo sa, keď tomu prišiel čas, že Anna počala a porodila syna a nazvala jeho meno Samuel , lebo riekla: Od Hospodina som ho vyprosila.

21 (CPDV) Now her husband Elkanah ascended with his entire house, so that he might immolate to the Lord a solemn sacrifice, with his vow.
21 (ROH) A človek Elkána zase odišiel hore i s celým svojím domom obetovať Hospodinovi každoročnú obeť bitnú a splniť svoj sľub.

22 (CPDV) But Hannah did not go up. For she said to her husband, “I will not go, until the infant has been weaned, and until I may lead him, so that he may appear before the sight of the Lord, and may remain always there.”
22 (ROH) Ale Anna neišla hore, lebo riekla svojmu mužovi: Až bude odstavený chlapec, zavediem ho ta, a ukáže sa pred tvárou Hospodinovou a bude tam bývať až na veky.

23 (CPDV) And her husband Elkanah said to her: “Do what seems good to you, and stay until you wean him. And I pray that the Lord may fulfill his word.” Therefore, the woman remained at home, and she breastfed her son, until she withdrew him from milk.
23 (ROH) A Elkána, jej muž, jej povedal: Učiň to, čo je dobré v tvojich očiach; zostaň, až ho odstavíš, len nech Hospodin postaví, a tak splní svoje slovo. A tak zostala žena a kojila svojho syna, dokiaľ ho neodstavila.

24 (CPDV) And after she had weaned him, she brought him with her, along with three calves, and three measures of flour, and a small bottle of wine, and she led him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh. But the boy was still a young child.
24 (ROH) Potom, keď ho odstavila, odviedla ho so sebou hore i s tromi juncami nesúc jednu efu bielej múky jemnej a nádobu vína a doviedla ho do domu Hospodinovho do Síla, a chlapča bolo ešte malé.

25 (CPDV) And they immolated a calf, and they presented the boy to Eli.
25 (ROH) A zabili junca a doviedli chlapca k Élimu.

26 (CPDV) And Hannah said: “I beg you, my lord, as your soul lives, my lord: I am that woman, who stood before you here, praying to the Lord.

27 (CPDV) I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted to me my petition, which I asked of him.
27 (ROH) Za tohoto chlapca som sa modlila, a Hospodin mi dal to, čo som si prosila od neho.

28 (CPDV) Because of this, I have also lent him to the Lord, for all the days when he shall be lent to the Lord.” And they adored the Lord in that place. And Hannah prayed, and she said:
28 (ROH) Preto ho i ja oddávam Hospodinovi, aby bol jeho po všetky dni, čo bude žiť; je vyprosený pre Hospodina. A poklonili sa tam Hospodinovi.

Verš 24
And after she had weaned him, she brought him with her, along with three calves, and three measures of flour, and a small bottle of wine, and she led him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh. But the boy was still a young child.
Lk 2:41 - And his parents went every year to Jerusalem, at the time of the solemnity of Passover.

1 Krn 6,12 n. a 6,18 n.).

– Anna išla do chrámu, kde býval Pán.

1Sam 1,20 - Začiatok verša zneje v pôvodine doslovne: "A keď zbehli dni", t. j. "keď sa vrátili tie isté dni roka". – Meno Samuel znamená: Vyslyšal Boh.

1Sam 1,23 - U Izraelitov dojčili matky oveľa dlhšie než u nás (porov. napr. 2 Mach 7,27).

1Sam 1,24 - Podľa LXX vzali len jedného trojročného býčka (porov. v. 25), čo je pravdepodobnejšie. – Efa je asi 36 litrov. – Víno uschovávali v kožených mechoch. Všetky tieto veci potrebovali na obetu.
