2. list Korinťanom

Biblia - Sväté písmo

(CPDV - Anglický - Catholic PD)

2Kor 10, 1-18

1 (CPDV) But I myself, Paul, am begging you, through the meekness and modesty of Christ. I am certainly, by appearances, lowly among you, yet I have confidence in you, even while I am absent.
1 (ROH) Ale sám ja Pavel vás prosím krotkou tichosťou a prívetivosťou Krista, ktorý som, ako hovoria, do tvári pokorný medzi vami, ale neprítomný smelý voči vám.

2 (CPDV) So I am petitioning you, lest I be bold, when present, with that bold confidence that I am considered to have by certain ones who judge us as if we were walking according to the flesh.

3 (CPDV) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not battle according to the flesh.
3 (ROH) Lebo pravda chodíme v tele, ale nevojujeme podľa tela -

4 (CPDV) For the weapons of our battles are not carnal, yet still they are powerful with God, unto the destruction of fortifications: tearing down every counsel

5 (CPDV) and height that extols itself contrary to the wisdom of God, and leading every intellect into the captivity of obedience to Christ,
5 (ROH) ktorí boríme úmysly a každú vysokosť, ktorá sa povyšuje proti známosti Božej, a zajímame v plen každú myseľ do poslušnosti Krista

6 (CPDV) and standing ready to repudiate every disobedience, when your own obedience has been fulfilled.
6 (ROH) hotoví súc pomstiť každý neposluch, keď sa naplní vaša poslušnosť.

7 (CPDV) Consider the things that are in accord with appearances. If anyone trusts that by these things he belongs to Christ, let him reconsider this within himself. For just as he belongs to Christ, so also do we.
7 (ROH) Či na to, čo je pred očami, hľadíte? Jestli ktosi dôveruje v sebe, že je Kristov, nech zase to myslí u seba, že jako je on Kristov, tak sme aj my Kristovi.

8 (CPDV) And if I were even to glory somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord has given to us for your edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed.
8 (ROH) Lebo keby som sa i niečo viacej pochválil ohľadne našej moci, ktorú nám dal Pán - budovať a nie vás boriť, nebudem zahanbený,

9 (CPDV) But let it not be said that I am scaring you by means of epistles.

10 (CPDV) For they say: “His epistles, indeed, are weighty and strong. But his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is contemptible.”

11 (CPDV) Let someone like this realize that whatever we are in word through epistles, while absent: we are much the same in deed, while present.

12 (CPDV) For we would not dare to interpose or compare ourselves with certain ones who commend themselves. But we measure ourselves by ourselves, and we compare ourselves with ourselves.
Ale oni sami seba sami sebou merajúc a sami seba sami so sebou porovnávajúc nerozumejú ničomu.

13 (CPDV) Thus, we will not glory beyond our measure, but rather according to the measure of the limit which God has measured out to us, a measure which extends even to you.
13 (ROH) Ale my sa nebudeme chváliť do bezmierna, ale podľa miery meradla, ktorým nám Bôh nameral mieru, aby sme dospeli až i k vám.

14 (CPDV) For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we are not able to reach as far as you are able. For we have gone even as far as you have in the Gospel of Christ.

15 (CPDV) We are not glorying immeasurably over the labors of others. Instead, we hold on to the hope of your growing faith, so as to be magnified in you, according to our own limits, but in abundance,
15 (ROH) nechváliac sa do bezmierna cudzími prácami, ale jako takí, ktorí máme nádej, že keď porastie vaša viera, budeme zveličení medzi vami podľa svojho meradla do hojnosti,

16 (CPDV) and even so as to evangelize in those places that are beyond you, not in order to glory in the measure of others, but rather in those things which have already been prepared.

17 (CPDV) But whoever glories, let him glory in the Lord.
17 (ROH) Ale ten, kto sa chváli, nech sa chváli Pánom.

18 (CPDV) For it is not he who commends himself who is approved, but rather he whom God commends.
18 (ROH) Lebo nie ten, kto sám seba odporúča, je dokázaný, ale ten, koho Pán odporúča.

2Kor 10, 1-18

Verš 4
For the weapons of our battles are not carnal, yet still they are powerful with God, unto the destruction of fortifications: tearing down every counsel
Ef 6:13 - Because of this, take up the armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand the evil day and remain perfect in all things.
Jer 1:10 - Behold, today I have appointed you over nations and over kingdoms, so that you may root up, and pull down, and destroy, and scatter, and so that you may build and plant.”

Verš 8
And if I were even to glory somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord has given to us for your edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed.
2Kor 13:10 - Therefore, I write these things while absent, so that, when present, I may not have to act more harshly, according to the authority which the Lord has given to me, for edification and not for destruction.

Verš 12
For we would not dare to interpose or compare ourselves with certain ones who commend themselves. But we measure ourselves by ourselves, and we compare ourselves with ourselves.
2Kor 3:1 - Must we begin again to commend ourselves? Or are we in need (as some are) of epistles of commendation for you, or from you?
2Kor 5:12 - We are not commending ourselves again to you, but rather we are presenting you with an opportunity to glory because of us, when you deal with those who glory in face, and not in heart.

Verš 13
Thus, we will not glory beyond our measure, but rather according to the measure of the limit which God has measured out to us, a measure which extends even to you.
Ef 4:7 - Yet to each one of us there has been given grace according to the measure allotted by Christ.

Verš 17
But whoever glories, let him glory in the Lord.
Iz 65:16 - By that name, whoever is blessed on earth, will be blessed in God. Amen! And whoever swears on earth, will swear by God. Amen! For the past anguishes have been delivered into oblivion, and they have been hidden from my eyes.
Jer 9:23 - Thus says the Lord: “The wise man should not glory in his wisdom, and the strong man should not glory in his strength, and the rich man should not glory in his riches.
1Kor 1:31 - And so, in the same way, it was written: “Whoever glories, should glory in the Lord.”

Verš 18
For it is not he who commends himself who is approved, but rather he whom God commends.
Prís 27:2 - Let another praise you, and not your own mouth: an outsider, and not your own lips.

2Kor 10,1 - Výčitka, ktorú robili Pavlovi jeho nepriatelia.

2Kor 10,2 - Žiť podľa tela tu znamená žiť iba pre ľudské záujmy.

2Kor 10,13-15 - Pavol vo svojej apoštolskej práci nechce prekračovať hranice svojho pôsobenia, ani si pripisovať úspechy iných.

2Kor 10,17 - Porov. Jer 9, 22–23. Ten istý citát je v 1 Kor 1, 31.
