Kniha proroka Joela

1 (UKJV) The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
1 (KAT) Slovo Pánovo, ktoré prehovoril k Joelovi, synovi Fatuela.

2 (UKJV) Hear this, all of you old men, and give ear, all you inhabitants of the land. Has this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
2 (KAT) Čujte toto, starci, nakloňte si ucho, všetci obyvatelia zeme! Či sa stalo takéto za vašich dní alebo za dní vašich otcov?

3 (UKJV) Tell all of you your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
3 (KAT) Rozprávajte o tom svojim deťom a vaše deti svojim deťom a ich deti ďalším pokoleniam!

5 (KAT) Vzbuďte sa, opilci, plačte a kvíľte, všetci pijani vína, pre mušt, lebo vám ho spred úst zničili.

9 (KAT) Pokrmové a nápojové obety zmizli z domu Pánovho, smútia kňazi, služobníci Pánovi.

10 (KAT) Spustošené je pole, smúti roľa, veď je znivočené obilie, vyschol mušt, olej uvädol.

11 (UKJV) "Be all of you ashamed, O all of you husbandmen; wail, O all of you vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished. "
11 (KAT) Roľníci sa hanbia, jajkajú vinári pre pšenicu a jačmeň, lebo žatva je preč z poľa.

12 (UKJV) "The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languishes; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men. "
12 (KAT) Vinič vyschol, figovníky uvädli, granátniky i palmy a jablone, všetky stromy poľa vyschli, áno, zmizla radosť u ľudí.

13 (UKJV) Gird yourselves, and lament, all of you priests: wail, all of you ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, all of you ministers of my God: for the food offering and the drink offering is withheld from the house of your God.
13 (KAT) Opášte sa a nariekajte, kňazi, kvíľte, služobníci oltára, poďte, bedlite vo vrecovinách, sluhovia môjho Boha, lebo domu Pánovmu sú upreté obety pokrmu a nápoja.

14 (UKJV) Sanctify all of you a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
14 (KAT) Zasväťte pôst, zvolajte zbor, zhromaždite starcov, všetkých občanov krajiny do domu Pána, svojho Boha, a volajte k Pánovi:

15 (UKJV) Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
15 (KAT) „Beda tomuto dňu, veď blízo je Pánov deň, príde ako pohroma od Hromovládcu!

16 (UKJV) Is not the food cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
16 (KAT) Či nie pred naším zrakom hynie pokrm, z domu nášho Boha radosť a plesanie?“

17 (UKJV) "The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered. "
17 (KAT) Hnijú semená pod svojimi hrudami, pusté sú sýpky, rúcajú sa sklady, lebo obilie vyšlo na hanbu.

18 (UKJV) "How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. "
18 (KAT) Ako bučí dobytok! Blúdia čriedy statku, lebo nemajú pastvy; aj stáda oviec hynú.

19 (UKJV) O LORD, to you will I cry: for the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.
19 (KAT) K tebe, Pane, volám, lebo oheň strávil stepné lúky a plameň spálil všetky stromy poľa.

20 (UKJV) The beasts of the field cry also unto you: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
20 (KAT) I zverina poľa túži po tebe, lebo vyschli vodné toky a oheň strávil stepné lúky.
