1 (CPDV) I will not rouse him, as the cruel would do, for who is able to withstand my countenance?
1 (ROH) Hľa, nádej človeka na neho je klamná. Alebo či sa dokonca už i na jeho pohľad rúti na zem?

2 (CPDV) Who has given to me beforehand, so that I should repay him? All things that are under heaven are mine.
2 (ROH) Nikto nie je taký smelý, ani len aby ho zobudil. A kde kto potom sa postaví predo mnou?!

3 (CPDV) I will not spare him, nor his powerful words and counterfeit attempts at supplication.
3 (ROH) Kto ma kedy predišiel voľačím, aby som odplatil? Čokoľvek je pod všetkými nebesami, je moje.

4 (CPDV) Who can reveal the beauty of his garment? And who can enter the middle of his mouth?
4 (ROH) Nebudem mlčať o jeho údoch o sile a kráse jeho ustrojenia.

5 (CPDV) Who can open the doors of his face? I gave fear to the circle of his teeth.
5 (ROH) Kto odkryje povrch jeho rúcha? S dvojitou svojou úzdou kto pristúpi?

6 (CPDV) His body is like shields fused together, like dense scales pressed over one another.
6 (ROH) Kto otvorí vráta jeho tvári? Okolo jeho zubov je strach.

7 (CPDV) One is joined to another, and not even air can pass between them.
7 (ROH) Pýchou ryhy jeho štítov; každý je privrený jako tesná pečať.

8 (CPDV) They adhere to one another, and they hold themselves in place and will not be separated.
8 (ROH) Jeden prilieha k druhému tak, že vzduch nevojde medzi ne.

9 (CPDV) His sneezing has the brilliance of fire, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
9 (ROH) Každý ľne pevne k druhému; držia sa spolu a neodstávajú od seba.

10 (CPDV) Lamps proceed from his mouth, like torches of fire burning brightly.
10 (ROH) Jeho kýchanie žiari svetlom a jeho oči sú jako riasy rannej zory.

11 (CPDV) Smoke passes out of his nostrils, like a pot that is 307 heated and boiling.
11 (ROH) Z jeho úst vychádzajú fakle; uletujú ohnivé iskry.

12 (CPDV) His breath causes coal to burn, and a flame comes forth from his mouth.
12 (ROH) Z jeho chriapov vychádza dym; je to jako vrúci kotol a horiaca sitina.

13 (CPDV) Strength dwells in his neck, and destitution goes before his presence.
13 (ROH) Jeho dych rozpaľuje uhlie, a plameň vychádza z jeho úst.

14 (CPDV) The parts of his body work in harmony together. He will send lightning bolts against him, and they will not be carried to another place.
14 (ROH) V jeho šiji prebýva sila, a pred ním výskoky uteká strach.

15 (CPDV) His heart will be as hard as a stone and as dense as a blacksmith’s anvil.
15 (ROH) Kusy jeho mäsa pevne sa držia. Všetko je na ňom ako uliate, ani sa nepohne.

16 (CPDV) When he will be raised up, the angels will be afraid, and, because they are terrified, they will purify themselves.
16 (ROH) Jeho srdce je uliate jako z kameňa, a je uliate, pevné jako spodný žernov.

17 (CPDV) When a sword catches up with him, it will not be able to settle in, nor a spear, nor a breastplate.
17 (ROH) Jeho dvihnutia sa boja i najsilnejší; zlyhajú od zdrtenia.

18 (CPDV) For he will consider iron as if it were chaff, and brass as if it were rotten wood.
18 (ROH) Keby ho niekto dostihol mečom, jeho meč neostojí, ani kopija ani strela ani pancier.

19 (CPDV) The archer will not cause him to flee; the stones of the sling have been turned into stubble for him.
19 (ROH) Považuje železo za slamu, za hnilé drevo meď.

20 (CPDV) He will treat the hammer as if it were stubble, and he will ridicule those who brandish the spear.
20 (ROH) Strela z luku ho nepohne na útek; kamene z praku sa mu obrátia na plevy.

21 (CPDV) The beams of the sun will be under him, and he will dispense gold to them as if it were clay.
21 (ROH) Kyjak považuje za suché steblo; smeje sa šramotu kopije.

22 (CPDV) He will make the depths of the sea boil like a pot, and he will set it to bubble just as ointments do.
22 (ROH) Pod ním je ostrie črepu; stelie hrot, ako čo by to bolo na blato.

23 (CPDV) A path will shine after him; he will esteem the abyss as if it were weakening with age.
23 (ROH) Pôsobí, aby vrela hlbina jako hrniec; robí more nádobou strojenej masti.

24 (ROH) Za ním svieti draha; považuje priepasť za bezvládne šediny.

25 (CPDV) He sees every prominent thing; he is king over all the sons of arrogance.
