Jób 29, 1-25

1 (CPDV) Job also added to this, using figures of speech, and he said:
1 (ROH) A Job pokračoval vo svojej umnej reči a riekol:

2 (CPDV) Who will grant to me that I might be as I was in former months, according to the days when God kept watch over me?
2 (ROH) Oj, aby som bol ako za predošlých mesiacov, ako za dní, v ktorých ma strážiac chránil Bôh!

3 (CPDV) At that time, his lamp shined over my head, and by his light, I walked through the darkness.
3 (ROH) Kým svietil svojou sviecou nad mojou hlavou, keď som chodieval v jeho svetle vo tme!

4 (CPDV) I was then just as in the days 302 of my youth, when God was privately in my tabernacle.
4 (ROH) Jako som bol za dní svojej jasene , kým bola tajná rada Božia nad mojím stánom;

5 (CPDV) At that time, the Almighty was with me and my children surrounded me.
5 (ROH) kým ešte bol so mnou Všemohúci, vôkol mňa moji chlapci;

6 (CPDV) Then, I washed my feet with butter, and a boulder poured out rivers of oil for me.
6 (ROH) kým sa moje kroky kúpaly v masle, a skala vylievala u mňa potoky oleja;

7 (CPDV) When I went to the gate of the city, or to the main street, they prepared a chair for me.
7 (ROH) keď som vychádzaval do brány, hore do mesta, a na ulici postavovával svoje sedište!

8 (CPDV) The youths saw me and hid themselves, and the elders, rising up, remained standing.
8 (ROH) Keď ma videli mládenci, skrývali sa a starci povstávali a stáli.

9 (CPDV) The leaders stopped talking, and they placed a finder over their mouth.
9 (ROH) Kniežatá zdŕžaly slovami a kládli ruku na svoje ústa;

10 (CPDV) The commanders subdued their voice, and their tongue adhered to their throat.
10 (ROH) hlas vojvodov sa skrýval, a ich jazyk sa lepil na ich ďasno.

11 (CPDV) The ear that heard me, blessed me, and the eye that saw me, gave testimony for me.
11 (ROH) Keď počulo o mne ucho, blahoslavilo ma, a keď ma videlo oko, prisviedčalo mi.

12 (CPDV) This was because I had freed the poor, who cried out, and the orphan, who had no helper.
12 (ROH) Lebo som vytrhoval biedneho, volajúceho o pomoc, i sirotu i toho, kto nemal pomocníka.

13 (CPDV) The blessing of him who would have been destroyed came upon me, and I consoled the heart of the widow.
13 (ROH) Požehnanie hynúceho prichádzalo na mňa, a pôsobil som to, aby plesalo srdce vdovy.

14 (CPDV) I put on justice, and I clothed myself with my judgment, like a robe and a diadem.
14 (ROH) Obliekal som sa v spravedlivosť, a ona si obliekala mňa; jako plášť a jako turban bol môj súd.

15 (CPDV) I was an eye for the blind and a foot for the lame.
15 (ROH) Bol som očima slepému a nohami krivému som bol ja.

16 (CPDV) I was the father of the poor; and if I lacked knowledge about any case, I investigated very diligently.
16 (ROH) Býval som otcom chudobným a pravotu, ktorej som neznal, som prezkúmal.

17 (CPDV) I crushed the jaws of the impious, and I took away prey from his teeth.
17 (ROH) Krúšieval som črenové zuby nešľachetníka a vyrážal som lúpež z jeho zubov.

18 (CPDV) And I said, “I will die in my little nest, and like a palm tree, I will multiply my days.
18 (ROH) A povedal som: Zomriem vo svojom hniezde a rozmnožím svoje dni, že ich bude jako piesku.

19 (CPDV) My root has been spread beside the waters, and the dew will remain with my harvest.
19 (ROH) Môj koreň bude mať otvorený prístup k vode, a rosa bude nocovať na mojej vetvi.

20 (CPDV) My glory will always be restored, and my bow will be restored to my hand.”
20 (ROH) Moja sláva bude vše nová u mňa, a moje lučište sa bude obnovovať v mojej ruke.

21 (CPDV) Those who heard me, expected vindication, and they listened closely in silence to my counsel.
21 (ROH) Počúvali na mňa a očakávali a mlčali na moju radu.

22 (CPDV) To my words, they dared to add nothing, and my eloquence poured over them.
22 (ROH) Po mojom slove viacej nehovorili, a moja reč príjemne pršala na nich;

23 (CPDV) They waited for me as for rain, and they opened their mouth as for belated rains.
23 (ROH) očakávali na mňa jako na dážď a otvárali svoje ústa jako proti jarnému dažďu.

24 (CPDV) If I had ever laughed at them, they would not have believed it, and the light of my face was not cast down towards the ground.
24 (ROH) Smial som sa na nich žartujúc, neverili a nedali padnúť svetlu mojej tvári.

25 (CPDV) If I wished to go to them, I sat down first, and, though I sat like a king surrounded by an army, yet I was a comforter to whose who mourned.
25 (ROH) Volil som ich cestu a sedel som ako hlava a prebýval som ako kráľ vo vojsku, jako ten, kto teší zarmútených.

Jób 29, 1-25

Verš 14
I put on justice, and I clothed myself with my judgment, like a robe and a diadem.

Ef 6:14 - Therefore, stand firm, having been girded about your waist with truth, and having been clothed with the breastplate of justice,
1Sol 5:8 - But we, who are of the daylight, should be sober, being clothed with the breastplate of faith and of charity and having, as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

Job 29,1 - Niektoré preklady Knihy Jób majú rozdielne číslovanie veršov aj ich poradie. Vidno to i z hlavy 29.

Job 29,25 - Určil som, čo majú robiť, a všetci ma poslúchali vo vykonaní mojich rozkazov, ako to robia vojaci, keď im velí ich kráľovský vojvodca. Ale počínal som si často aj ako otec, ktorý potešuje svoje zarmútené deti.
