Kniha Ester

1 (UKJV) "Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;) "
1 (ROH) Potom dvanásteho mesiaca, ktorý to mesiac je mesiac adar, trinásteho dňa toho mesiaca, ktorého prišlo slovo kráľovo a jeho zákon ta, aby boly vykonané, toho dňa, ktorého sa nadejali nepriatelia Židov, že dostanú moc nad nimi, obrátilo sa to tak, že oni, Židia, dostali moc nad tými, ktorí ich nenávideli.

2 (UKJV) "The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people. "
2 (ROH) Lebo sa shromaždili Židia vo svojich mestách vo všetkých krajinách kráľa Ahasvera, aby vystreli ruku na tých, ktorí hľadali ich zlé, ani neobstál nikto pred nimi, lebo ich strach padol na všetky národy.

3 (UKJV) "And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them. "
3 (ROH) I všetky kniežatá krajín a vladári, vojvodovia a tí, ktorí konali prácu kráľovu, pomáhali Židom, lebo padol na nich strach Mardocheov.

4 (UKJV) For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and his fame went out throughout all the provinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.
4 (ROH) Lebo Mardocheus bol veľkým v dome kráľovom, a jeho povesť išla po všetkých krajinách, pretože muž Mardocheus bol čo ďalej tým väčší.

5 (UKJV) Thus the Jews stroke all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them.
5 (ROH) A Židia uderili na všetkých svojich nepriateľov bijúc ich mečom, vraždiac a hubiac a tak urobili tým, ktorí ich nenávideli, po svojej vôli.

6 (UKJV) And in Shushan the palace the Jews slew and destroyed five hundred men.
6 (ROH) A na hrade Súsane zabili Židia a zahubili päťsto mužov,

7 (UKJV) And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
7 (ROH) i Paršandata, Dalfona a Asfata,

8 (UKJV) And Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
8 (ROH) Poráta, Adalia a Aridata,

9 (UKJV) And Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha,
9 (ROH) Parmašta, Arisaja, Aridaja a Vajzata,

10 (UKJV) "The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews, slew they; but on the spoil laid they not their hand. "
10 (ROH) desiatich synov Hámana, syna Hammedatovho, protivníka Židov, zabili, ale po lúpeži nevystreli svojej ruky.

11 (UKJV) On that day the number of those that were slain in Shushan the palace was brought before the king.
11 (ROH) Toho dňa, keď prišiel počet pobitých na hrade Súsane pred kráľa,

12 (UKJV) "And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? now what is your petition? and it shall be granted you: or what is your request further? and it shall be done. "
12 (ROH) povedal kráľ kráľovnej Esteri: Na hrade Súsane zabili Židia a zahubili päťsto mužov a desiatich synov Hámanových. A čo učinili v ostatných krajinách kráľových? A čo je tvoja žiadosť? A bude ti daná. A čo je ešte tvoja prosba? A učiní sa.

13 (UKJV) Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do tomorrow also according unto this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged upon the gallows.
13 (ROH) A Ester odpovedala: Jestli sa vidí kráľovi za dobré, nech sa dá i zajtra Židom, ktorí sú v Súsane, aby urobili podľa zákona tohoto dňa, a desiatich synov Hámanových nech obesia na šibenicu.

14 (UKJV) "And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons. "
14 (ROH) A kráľ rozkázal, aby sa urobilo tak, a tedy bol vydaný zákon v Súsane, a desiatich synov Hámanových obesili.

15 (UKJV) "For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand. "
15 (ROH) A Židia, ktorí boli v Súsane, shromaždili sa aj štrnásteho dňa mesiaca adara a zabili v Súsane tristo mužov, ale po koristi nevystreli svojej ruky.

16 (UKJV) But the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey,
16 (ROH) A ostatní Židia, ktorí boli v krajinách kráľových, tiež sa shromaždili a postavili sa do boja za svoj život a tak mali pokoj od svojich nepriateľov a pobili z tých, ktorí ich nenávideli, sedemdesiatpäť tisíc, ale po koristi nevystreli svojej ruky.

17 (UKJV) "On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. "
17 (ROH) To bolo trinásteho dňa mesiaca adara, a mali pokoj štrnásteho dňa toho mesiaca a urobili ho dňom hodu a radosti.

18 (UKJV) "But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. "
18 (ROH) Ale Židia, ktorí boli v Súsane, shromaždili sa trinásteho dňa toho mesiaca i štrnásteho dňa toho mesiaca a mali pokoj pätnásteho dňa toho istého mesiaca a urobili ho dňom hodu a radosti.

19 (UKJV) Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the towns without protective walls, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.
19 (ROH) Preto Židia, obyvatelia dedín, ktorí bývajú v neohradených mestách, svätia štrnásty deň mesiaca adara jako deň radosti a hodu a jako dobrý deň, to jest sviatok, a posielajú jedni druhým čiastky pokrmov.

20 (UKJV) And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far,
20 (ROH) A Mardocheus opísal tieto veci a poslal listy ku všetkým Židom, ktorí boli kdekoľvek po všetkých krajinách kráľa Ahasvera, blízkym i ďalekým,

21 (UKJV) To establish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
21 (ROH) ustanovujúc im, aby svätili štrnásty deň mesiaca adara i pätnásty deň toho mesiaca každého roku,

22 (UKJV) As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
22 (ROH) podľa dní, v ktorých mali Židia už pokoj od svojich nepriateľov a podľa mesiaca, ktorý sa im obrátil z trápenia duše na radosť a zo smútku na dobrý deň, aby ich svätili jako dni hodu a radosti a aby si navzájom posielali pôcty, čiastky slávnostného pokrmu, a dary chudobným.

23 (UKJV) "And the Jews undertook to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written unto them; "
23 (ROH) A Židia to prijali, že budú robiť to, čo začali, a to, čo im napísal Mardocheus.

24 (UKJV) "Because Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had devised against the Jews to destroy them, and had cast Pur, that is, the lot, to consume them, and to destroy them; "
24 (ROH) Lebo Háman, syn Hammedatov, Agagský, protivník všetkých Židov, zamýšľal o Židoch, aby ich zahubil a hodil púr, to jest los, aby ich rozdrtil a zahubil.

25 (UKJV) But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letters that his wicked device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.
25 (ROH) Ale keď to prišlo pred kráľa, rozkázal listom, aby sa jeho zlostný úmysel, ktorý bol umyslel proti Židom, obrátil na jeho hlavu, a tak ho obesili i jeho synov na šibenicu.

26 (UKJV) Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them,
26 (ROH) Preto pomenovali tie dni Púrim podľa mena púr. A preto pre všetky slová toho listu, a preto, čo videli pri tom, a čo ich bolo stihlo,

27 (UKJV) "The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such as joined themselves unto them, so as it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year; "
27 (ROH) ustanovili a prijali Židia na seba a na svoje semeno jako i na všetkých tých, ktorí by sa kedy pripojili k nim, že to nezajde, aby nesvätili tých dvoch dní podľa toho, jako je o nich napísané, a podľa ich času každého roku,

28 (UKJV) "And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed. "
28 (ROH) a že sa má pamätať na tie dni, a že sa majú svätiť v každom pokolení, v každej čeľadi, v každej krajine a v každom meste, a že tie dni Púrim nezajdú z prostredku Židov, ani že ich pamiatka nevyhynie u ich potomstva.

29 (UKJV) Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim.
29 (ROH) A písala i kráľovná Ester, dcéra Abichailova, i Žid Mardocheus dôrazne, s celou mocou, i po druhé, aby pevne postavili ten list o sviatku Púrim.

30 (UKJV) And he sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth,
30 (ROH) A poslal listy ku všetkým Židom, do sto dvadsaťsedem krajín kráľovstva Ahasvera, slová pokoja a pravdy,

31 (UKJV) To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had commanded with authority them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry.
31 (ROH) postaviť pevne tie dni Púrim, aby ich zachovávali na ich časy, jako im ich nariadil Žid Mardocheus a kráľovná Ester, a jako to prijali za ustanovenie na seba a na svoje semä, predpisy pôstov a ich kriku.

32 (UKJV) "And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book. "
32 (ROH) A tak rozkaz Esterin ustanovil pevne predpisy sviatku týchto Púrim, a bolo to zapísané do knihy.
