Gn 41, 1-57

1 (CPDV) After two years, Pharaoh saw a dream. He thought himself to be standing above a river,
1 (KAT) O dva roky neskôr mal sen faraón. Videl sa nad Nílom

2 (CPDV) from which ascended seven cows, exceedingly beautiful and stout. And they pastured in marshy places.

3 (CPDV) Likewise, another seven emerged from the river, filthy and thoroughly emaciated. And they pastured on the same bank of the river, in green places.

4 (CPDV) And they devoured those whose appearance and condition of body was so wonderful. Pharaoh, having been awakened,
4 (KAT) A tie na pohľad mrzké kravy zožrali sedem pekných a tučných kráv. Vtedy sa faraón zobudil.

5 (CPDV) slept again, and he saw another dream. Seven ears of grain sprung up on one stalk, full and well-formed.

6 (CPDV) Likewise, other ears of grain, of the same number, rose up, thin and struck with blight,
6 (KAT) Ale hneď po nich vyrástlo sedem suchých a východným vetrom celkom spálených klasov

7 (CPDV) devouring all the beauty of the first. Pharaoh, when he awakened after his rest,
7 (KAT) a suché klasy požrali sedem hrubých a plných klasov.

8 (CPDV) and when morning arrived, being terrified with fear, sent to all the interpreters of Egypt and to all of the wise men. And when they were summoned, he explained to them his dream; but there was no one who could interpret it.

9 (CPDV) Then at last the chief cupbearer, remembering, said, “I confess my sin.
9 (KAT) Vtedy hlavný čašník povedal faraónovi. „Spomínam si dnes na svoje previnenie.

10 (CPDV) The king, being angry with his servants, ordered me and the chief miller of grain to be forced into the prison of the leader of the military.
10 (KAT) Kedysi sa faraón na mňa rozhneval a dal ma pod dozor do domu veliteľa telesnej stráže; mňa a hlavného pekára.

11 (CPDV) There, in one night, both of us saw a dream presaging the future.
11 (KAT) A mali sme v istú noc sen, ja i on; každý z nás mal osobitný sen, ktorý mal preň zvláštny význam.

12 (CPDV) In that place, there was a Hebrew, a servant of the same commander of the military, to whom we explained our dreams.
12 (KAT) A bol tam s nami istý mladý hebrejský muž, otrok veliteľa telesnej stráže. Jemu sme ich porozprávali a on nám naše sny vyložil. Každému dal správny výklad jeho sna.

13 (CPDV) Whatever we heard was proven afterwards by the event of the matter. For I was restored to my office, and he was suspended on a cross.”

14 (CPDV) Immediately, by the king’s authority, Joseph was led out of prison, and they shaved him. And changing his apparel, they presented him to him.
14 (KAT) Tu si dal faraón zavolať Jozefa. Rýchlo ho vyviedli zo žalára, dal sa ostrihať a preobliekol si šaty a išiel k faraónovi.

15 (CPDV) And he said to him, “I have seen dreams, and there is no one who can unfold them. I have heard that you are very wise at interpreting these.”

16 (CPDV) Joseph responded, “Apart from me, God will respond favorably to Pharaoh.”
16 (KAT) Ale Jozef povedal faraónovi: „Nie ja, ale Boh priaznivo odpovie faraónovi!“

17 (CPDV) Therefore, Pharaoh explained what he had seen: “I thought myself to be standing on the bank of a river,
17 (KAT) Potom faraón rozprával Jozefovi: „Vo svojom sne som stál na brehu Nílu

18 (CPDV) and seven cows climbed up from the river, exceedingly beautiful and full of flesh. And they grazed in a pasture of a marshy greenery.

19 (CPDV) And behold, there followed after these, another seven cows, with such deformity and emaciation as I had never seen in the land of Egypt.

20 (CPDV) These devoured and consumed the first,
20 (KAT) A tu chudé a mrzké kravy zožrali sedem prvých tučných kráv.

21 (CPDV) giving no indication of being full. But they remained in the same state of emaciation and squalor. Awakening, but being weighed down into sleep again,

22 (CPDV) I saw a dream. Seven ears of grain sprang up on one stalk, full and very beautiful.
22 (KAT) A zasa som zaspal a videl som vo sne, ako na jednom steble vyrástlo sedem plných a krásnych klasov.

23 (CPDV) Likewise, another seven, thin and struck with blight, rose up from the stalk.
23 (KAT) Lenže div, po nich vyrástlo opäť sedem prázdnych, suchých a od východného vetra celkom spálených klasov

24 (CPDV) And they devoured the beauty of the first. I explained this dream to the interpreters, and there is no one who can unfold it.”
24 (KAT) a tie suché klasy požrali sedem pekných klasov. Ja som to potom rozprával vykladačom písem, ale nebolo nikoho, kto by to bol vysvetlil.“

25 (CPDV) Joseph responded: “The dream of the king is one. What God will do, he has revealed to Pharaoh.
25 (KAT) Tu Jozef povedal faraónovi: „Sny faraónovi naznačujú jedno a to isté. Boh oznámil faraónovi, čo hodlá urobiť.

26 (CPDV) The seven beautiful cows, and the seven full ears of grain, are seven years of abundance. And so the force of the dreams is understood to be the same.
26 (KAT) Sedem pekných kráv je sedem rokov, takisto sedem pekných klasov je sedem rokov. Čo sa snívalo, je jedno a to isté.

27 (CPDV) Likewise, the seven thin and emaciated cows, which ascended after them, and the seven thin ears of grain, which were struck with the burning wind, are seven approaching years of famine.

28 (CPDV) These will be fulfilled in this order.
28 (KAT) Na to som myslel, keď som faraónovi povedal: Boh dal faraónovi vidieť, čo hodlá urobiť.

29 (CPDV) Behold, there will arrive seven years of great fertility throughout the entire land of Egypt.
29 (KAT) Teraz príde sedem rokov veľkého prebytku po celej egyptskej krajine.

30 (CPDV) After this, there will follow another seven years, of such great barrenness that all the former abundance will be delivered into oblivion. For the famine will consume all the land,
30 (KAT) Po nich príde sedem rokov hladu a po prebytku neostane v celej egyptskej krajine ani pamiatky, lebo hlad bude ničiť celú krajinu.

31 (CPDV) and the greatness of this destitution will cause the greatness of the abundance to be lost.

32 (CPDV) Now, as to what you saw the second time, it is a dream pertaining to the same thing. It is an indication of its firmness, because the word of God shall be done, and it shall be completed swiftly.

33 (CPDV) Now therefore, let the king provide a wise and industrious man, and place him over the land of Egypt,
33 (KAT) A teraz nech sa faraón poobzerá po umnom a múdrom mužovi, a nech ho ustanoví nad egyptskou krajinou!

34 (CPDV) so that he may appoint overseers throughout all the regions. And let a fifth part of the fruits, throughout the seven fertile years
34 (KAT) A tiež nech faraón určí nad celou egyptskou krajinou dozorcov a nech dá v siedmich rokoch prebytku povyberať piatu čiastku!

35 (CPDV) that now have already begun to occur, be gathered into storehouses. And let all the grain be stored away, under the power of Pharaoh, and let it be kept in the cities.
35 (KAT) Oni nech v budúcich úrodných rokoch pozbierajú všetko obilie a nech zrno na faraónov rozkaz uskladnia v mestách a nech ho strážia.

36 (CPDV) And let it be prepared for the future famine of seven years, which will oppress Egypt, and then the land will not be consumed by destitution.”

37 (CPDV) The counsel pleased Pharaoh and all his ministers.

38 (CPDV) And he said to them, “Would we be able to find another such man, who is full of the Spirit of God?”

39 (CPDV) Therefore, he said to Joseph: “Because God has revealed to you all that you have said, would I be able to find anyone wiser and as much like you?
39 (KAT) Potom faraón vravel Jozefovi: „Pretože ti Boh toto všetko zjavil, niet rozumnejšieho a múdrejšieho, ako si ty.

40 (CPDV) You will be over my house, and to the authority of your mouth, all the people will show 25 obedience. Only in one way, in the throne of the kingdom, will I go before you.”
40 (KAT) Ty sám budeš nad mojím domom a celý môj ľud bude závisieť od tvojich rozkazov a ja sám budem len o trón vyššie od teba!“

41 (CPDV) And again, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Behold, I have appointed you over the entire land of Egypt.”
41 (KAT) A faraón zopakoval Jozefovi: „Pozri, ustanovil som ťa nad celou egyptskou krajinou!“

42 (CPDV) And he took the ring from his own hand, and he gave it into his hand. And he clothed him with a robe of fine linen, and he placed a necklace of gold around his neck.
42 (KAT) Potom faraón stiahol svoj pečatný prsteň zo svojej ruky a nastokol ho na Jozefovu ruku, dal ho obliecť do kmentového rúcha a na krk mu založil zlatú reťaz.

43 (CPDV) And he caused him to ascend upon his second swift chariot, with the herald proclaiming that everyone should bend their knee before him, and that they should know that he was governor over the entire land of Egypt.
43 (KAT) Potom ho dal voziť na svojom druhom najlepšom voze a pred ním volali: „Skloňte sa!“ Takto ho ustanovil nad celou egyptskou krajinou.

44 (CPDV) Likewise, the king said to Joseph: “I am Pharaoh: apart from your authority, no one will move hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”
44 (KAT) A faraón opäť hovoril Jozefovi: „Ja som faraón! Bez tvojho súhlasu nesmie nik v celej egyptskej krajine pohnúť ani rukou, ani nohou.“

45 (CPDV) And he changed his name and called him, in the Egyptian tongue: ‘Savior of the world.’ And he gave him as a wife, Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, priest of Heliopolis. And so Joseph went out into the land of Egypt.
Jozef potom vyšiel do egyptskej krajiny.

46 (CPDV) (Now he was thirty years old when he stood in the sight of king Pharaoh.) And he traveled throughout the regions of Egypt.
46 (KAT) Keď Jozef stál pred egyptským kráľom, faraónom, mal tridsať rokov. A Jozef odišiel od faraóna a obchádzal celú egyptskú krajinu.

47 (CPDV) And the fertility of the seven years arrived. And when the grain fields were reduced to sheaves, these were gathered into the storehouses of Egypt.
47 (KAT) Za sedem úrodných rokov donášala zem bohatú úrodu.

48 (CPDV) And now all the abundance of grain was stored away in every city.
48 (KAT) A on dal všetko obilie, ktorého bol v týchto siedmich rokoch nadbytok, poznášať a zviezť do miest. Obilie dal doviezť do toho mesta, okolo ktorého boli príslušné polia.

49 (CPDV) And there was such a great abundance of wheat that it was comparable to the sands of the sea, and its bounty exceeded all measure.
49 (KAT) A Jozef nahromadil obilia ako morského piesku, nesmierne množstvo, takže ho ani nemeral, lebo sa to ani merať nedalo.

50 (CPDV) Then, before the famine arrived, Joseph had two sons born, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, priest of Heliopolis, bore for him.
50 (KAT) Ešte kým nastal hlad, Jozefovi sa narodili dvaja synovia. Porodila mu ich Asenet, dcéra Putifara, kňaza z Heliopolu.

51 (CPDV) And he called the name of the firstborn Manasseh, saying, “God has caused me to forget all my labors and the house of my father.”
51 (KAT) A Jozef nazval prvorodeného Manasses, hovoriac: „Boh mi dal zabudnúť na všetko moje nešťastie i na celý môj otcovský dom!“

52 (CPDV) Likewise, he named the second Ephraim, saying, “God has caused me to increase in the land of my poverty.”
52 (KAT) Druhého nazval Efraim, vraviac: „Boh sa mi dal rozplodiť v krajine mojej strasti!“

53 (CPDV) And so, when the seven years of fertility that occurred in Egypt had passed,
53 (KAT) Keď však pominulo sedem úrodných rokov, čo boli v egyptskej krajine,

54 (CPDV) the seven years of destitution, which Joseph had predicted, began to arrive. And the famine prevailed throughout the whole world, but there was bread in all the land of Egypt.
A keď nastal vo všetkých krajinách hlad, v egyptskej krajine bolo chleba dosť.

55 (CPDV) And being hungry, the people cried out to Pharaoh, asking for provisions. And he said to them: “Go to Joseph. And do whatever he will tell you.”
55 (KAT) Ale keď začala aj egyptská krajina hladovať, ľud volal k faraónovi o chlieb. Faraón však povedal: „Choďte k Jozefovi a urobte všetko, čo vám povie!“

56 (CPDV) Then the famine increased daily in all the land. And Joseph opened all of the storehouses and sold to the Egyptians. For the famine had oppressed them also.
56 (KAT) A keď hlad ťažil celú egyptskú krajinu, Jozef otvoril sýpky a predával Egypťanom obilie.

57 (CPDV) And all the provinces came to Egypt, to buy food and to temper the misfortune of their destitution.
