Gn 4, 1-26

1 (KJV) And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
1 (ROH) A Adam poznal Evu, svoju ženu, a počala a porodila Kaina , a riekla: Nadobudla som muža s Hospodinom.

2 (KJV) And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
2 (ROH) A zase porodila jeho brata Ábela <Ábel = Márnosť, smútok>. A Ábel pásol ovce, a Kain obrábal zem.

3 (KJV) And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
3 (ROH) A stalo sa po čase, že Kain doniesol Hospodinovi obetný dar z plodu zeme:

4 (KJV) And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
4 (ROH) A doniesol aj Ábel z prvorodených svojho stáda a z ich tuku. A Hospodin pohliadol milostive na Ábela a na jeho obetný dar.

5 (KJV) But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
5 (ROH) Ale na Kaina ani na jeho obetný dar nepohliadol, a preto sa Kain veľmi rozpálil hnevom, tak, že opadla jeho tvár.

6 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
6 (ROH) A Hospodin riekol Kainovi: Prečo si sa rozpálil hnevom, a prečo opadla tvoja tvár?

7 (KJV) If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
7 (ROH) Či, keď budeš dobre robiť, nebude povznesená a veselá? A keď nebudeš dobre robiť, hriech leží pri dveriach, a jeho túžba sa nesie po tebe. Ale ty budeš panovať nad ním!

8 (KJV) And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
8 (ROH) Na to zase hovoril Kain s Ábelom, svojím bratom. Ale stalo sa potom, keď boli na poli, že povstal Kain na Ábela, svojho brata, a zabil ho.

9 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
9 (ROH) A Hospodin riekol Kainovi: Kde je Ábel, tvoj brat? A Kain povedal: Neviem. Či som ja strážcom svojho brata?

10 (KJV) And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
10 (ROH) A Hospodin riekol: Čo si to urobil? Hlas krvi tvojho brata volá ku mne zo zeme!

11 (KJV) And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
11 (ROH) A ty teraz budeš zlorečený nad tú zem, ktorá otvorila svoje ústa, aby prijala krv tvojho brata z tvojej ruky.

12 (KJV) When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
12 (ROH) Keď budeš obrábať zem, nebude ti viacej vydávať svojej sily. Behúňom a tulákom budeš na zemi.

13 (KJV) And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
13 (ROH) Vtedy povedal Kain Hospodinovi: Moja neprávosť je väčšia, než aby mi mohla byť odpustená.

14 (KJV) Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
14 (ROH) Hľa, zaháňaš ma dnes s tvári zeme a zpred svojej tvári, budem sa skrývať a budem tulákom a behúňom na zemi, a stane sa, že ktokoľvek ma najde, zabije ma.

15 (KJV) And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
15 (ROH) A Hospodin mu riekol: Pre tú príčinu, ktokoľvek by zabil Kaina, na tom bude pomstené sedemnásobne. A Hospodin položil znamenie na Kaina, aby ho nikto nezabil, nech by ho našiel ktokoľvek.

16 (KJV) And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
16 (ROH) A tak vyšiel Kain zpred tvári Hospodinovej a býval v zemi Nóda východne od Édena.

17 (KJV) And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
17 (ROH) A Kain poznal svoju ženu, a počala a porodila Hanocha. A staväl mesto a nazval meno mesta podľa mena svojho syna Hanochom.

18 (KJV) And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.
18 (ROH) A Hanochovi sa narodil Irád, a Irád splodil Mechujaela, a Mechijael splodil Metušaela, a Matušael splodil Lámecha.

19 (KJV) And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
19 (ROH) A Lámech si vzal dve ženy; jednej bolo meno Ada, a meno druhej bolo Cilla.

20 (KJV) And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.
20 (ROH) A Ada porodila Jabala; ten bol otcom tých, ktorí bývajú v stánoch a pasú stádo.

21 (KJV) And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.
21 (ROH) A meno jeho brata bolo Júbal; ten bol otcom všetkých, ktorí hrajú na harfu a pískajú na píšťalu.

22 (KJV) And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-cain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
22 (ROH) I Cilla porodila Tubalkaina, kováča, otca to všetkých, ktorí pracujú z medi a zo železa. A sestra Tubalkainova bola Naama.

23 (KJV) And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.
23 (ROH) A Lámech povedal svojim ženám, Ade a Cille: Počujte môj hlas, ženy Lámechove! Ušima pozorujte moju reč! Lebo som zabil muža pre svoju ranu a mládenca pre svoju modrinu.

24 (KJV) If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
24 (ROH) Lebo vraj sedem ráz má byť pomstený Kain, ale pre Lámecha bude pomstené sedemdesiatsedem ráz!

25 (KJV) And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
25 (ROH) A Adam ešte poznal svoju ženu, a porodila syna a nazvala jeho meno Set , lebo vraj Bôh mi dal náhradou iné semä namiesto Ábela, keď ho zabil Kain.

26 (KJV) And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
26 (ROH) I Setovi sa narodil syn, a nazval jeho meno Enoš. Vtedy začali vzývať meno Hospodinovo.

Verš 4

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

Heb 11:4 - By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Verš 8

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Mt 23:35 - That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

1Jn 3:12 - Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Júd 1:11 - Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

Verš 10

And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Heb 12:24 - And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Verš 12

When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

Prís 28:17 - A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

Verš 14

Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

Jób 15:20 - The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.

Verš 24

If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

Gn 4:15 - And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
