1 (KJV) Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?
1 (KAT) Po Jozueho smrti sa Izraelovi synovia opýtali Pána: „Kto z nás má vytiahnuť prvý do boja proti Kanaánčanom?“
1 (ROH) A stalo sa po smrti Jozuovej, že sa pýtali synovia Izraelovi Hospodina a riekli: Kto pojde napočiatku za nás hore ku Kananejovi, aby bojoval proti nemu?

2 (KJV) And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.
2 (KAT) A Pán odpovedal: „Nech vytiahne Júda! Hľa, krajinu mu dávam do ruky!“
2 (ROH) A Hospodin riekol: Júda pojde hore. Hľa, vydal som zem do jeho ruky.

3 (KJV) And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him.
3 (KAT) A Júda požiadal svojho brata Simeona: „Vyber sa so mnou do môjho podielu a budeme bojovať proti Kanaánčanom. Potom pôjdem zasa ja s tebou do tvojho podielu.“ Simeon išiel teda s ním.
3 (ROH) A Júda riekol Simeonovi, svojmu bratovi: Poď so mnou ta hore do môjho losu, aby sme bojovali proti Kananejovi, a potom pojdem i ja s tebou do tvojho losu. A Simeon išiel s ním.

4 (KJV) And Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.
4 (KAT) Tak Júdovci vytiahli a Pán dal Kanaánčanov a Ferezejcov do ich ruky. Porazili ich v Bezeku, na desaťtisíc mužov.
4 (ROH) A tak odišiel Júda hore, a Hospodin vydal Kananeja a Ferezeja do ich ruky, a porazili ich v Bezeku, desať tisíc mužov.

5 (KJV) And they found Adoni-bezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites.
5 (KAT) V Bezeku našli Adonibezeka a bojovali proti nemu, keď porazili Kanaánčanov a Ferezejcov.
5 (ROH) A našli Adoni-bezeka v Bezeku a bojovali proti nemu a porazili Kananeja i Ferezeja.

6 (KJV) But Adoni-bezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.
6 (KAT) Keď sa dal Adonibezek na útek, prenasledovali ho, kým ho nezajali, a uťali mu palce na rukách i nohách.
6 (ROH) A keď utekal Adoni-bezek, honili ho a dochytiac ho poutínali mu palce na jeho rukách i na jeho nohách.

7 (KJV) And Adoni-bezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.
7 (KAT) Tu povedal Adonibezek: „Sedemdesiat kráľov s odťatými palcami na rukách a nohách zbieralo (zvyšky pokrmov) pod mojím stolom. Ako som robil, tak mi Boh odplatil.“ A priviedli ho do Jeruzalema, kde aj zomrel.
7 (ROH) Vtedy povedal Adoni-bezek: Sedemdesiati kráľovia s uťatými palci na svojich rukách i na svojich nohách sbierali odrobiny pod mojím stolom. Ako som robil, tak mi odplatil Bôh. Potom ho doviedli do Jeruzalema, a tam zomrel.

8 (KJV) Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
8 (KAT) Potom Júdovi synovia bojovali proti Jeruzalemu. Zaujali ho a vyhubili mečom a mesto podpálili.
8 (ROH) A synovia Júdovi bojovali proti Jeruzalemu a zaujali ho a zbili ho ostrím meča a mesto podpálili.

9 (KJV) And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley.
9 (KAT) Nato tiahli Júdovi synovia dolu, aby bojovali proti Kanaánčanom, ktorí bývali na vrchovine, v Negebe a v nížine.
9 (ROH) Potom sišli synovia Júdovi bojovať proti Kananejovi, ktorý býval na vrchoch a na juhu i na nížine.

10 (KJV) And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron: (now the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-arba:) and they slew Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.
10 (KAT) Na výprave proti Kanaánčanom, čo bývali v Hebrone - Hebron sa predtým menoval Mesto Arbeovo -, Júdovci porazili Sesaja, Ahimana a Tolmaja.
10 (ROH) A Júda odišiel ku Kananejovi, ktorý býval v Hebrone. A meno Hebrona bolo predtým Kirjat-arbe, a zabili Šešaja, Achimána a Talmaja.

11 (KJV) And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher:
11 (KAT) Odtiaľ tiahli proti obyvateľom Dabira. Dabir sa prv menoval Karjat-sefer.
11 (ROH) Odtiaľ odišiel k obyvateľom Debíra. A meno Debíra bolo predtým Kirjat-sefer.

12 (KJV) And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
12 (KAT) Tu povedal Kaleb: „Kto premôže Karjat-sefer a zaujme ho, tomu dám za ženu svoju dcéru Aksu.“
12 (ROH) A Kálef povedal: Tomu, kto zbije Kirjat-sefer, a zaujme ho, dám Achsu, svoju dcéru, za ženu.

13 (KJV) And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
13 (KAT) A dobyl ho Otoniel, syn Kenéza, mladšieho Kalebovho brata. I dal mu za ženu svoju dcéru Aksu.
13 (ROH) A zaujal ho Otniel, syn Kenaza, brata Kálefa, mladšieho od neho a dal mu Achsu, svoju dcéru, za ženu.

14 (KJV) And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wilt thou?
14 (KAT) Keď mala odísť, podpichávala ho, aby žiadal nejaké pole od jej otca. I zoskočila z osla a Kaleb sa jej opýtal: „Čo ti je?“
14 (ROH) A stalo sa, keď prišla k nemu, že ho naviedla, aby žiadal od jej otca pole. Preto sosadla rýchle s osla, a Kálef jej povedal: Čo chceš?

15 (KJV) And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.
15 (KAT) Odpovedala mu: „Daj mi veno! Dal si mi síce pole v Negebe, ale daj mi aj vodné pramene!“ A Kaleb jej dal horné pramene i dolné pramene.
15 (ROH) A riekla mu: Daj mi požehnanie, lebo si mi dal zem na juhu; nuž daj mi aj pramene vôd. A tak jej dal Kálef horné pramene i dolné pramene.

16 (KJV) And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
16 (KAT) Synovia Kenejcu, Mojžišovho svokra, vytiahli z Mesta paliem s Júdovými synmi hore do Júdskej púšte, ktorá sa tiahne južne od Aradu a usadili sa medzi tamojším ľudom.
16 (ROH) A synovia Kéniho, švagra Mojžišovho, odišli hore z mesta paliem so synmi Júdovými na Judskú púšť, ktorá je na juhu Aráda, a odíduc bývali s tým ľudom.

17 (KJV) And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah.
17 (KAT) Potom tiahol Júda so svojím bratom Simeonom a porazili Kanaánčanov, ktorí bývali v Sefáte, vykonali na nich kliatbu a mesto dostalo meno Horma (čiže Kliatba).
17 (ROH) A Júda odišiel so Simeonom, svojím bratom, a pobili Kananeja, ktorý býval v Cefate, a zarieknuc ho na záhubu docela ho zahladili, mesto Cefat, a nazval meno toho mesta Chorma.

18 (KJV) Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof.
18 (KAT) A Júda dobyl Gazu s jej územím, Askalon s jeho územím a Akaron s jeho územím.
18 (ROH) A Júda zaujal Gazu a jej územie i Aškalon a jeho územie aj Ekron a jeho územie.

19 (KJV) And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
19 (KAT) Pán bol s Júdom, takže vrchovinu zaujal. Ale obyvateľov nížiny nemohli vypudiť, lebo mali železné vozy.
19 (ROH) A Hospodin bol s Júdom, a tak vyhnal obyvateľov pohoria, lebo nemal smelosti vyhnať obyvateľov údolia, pretože mali železné vozy.

20 (KJV) And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak.
20 (KAT) Hebron dali Kalebovi, ako rozkázal Mojžiš, a on odtiaľ vypudil troch Enakových synov.
20 (ROH) A dali Kálefovi Hebron, tak ako hovoril Mojžiš, a vyhnal odtiaľ troch synov Enákových.

21 (KJV) And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.
21 (KAT) Ale Jebuzejcov, ktorí obývali Jeruzalem, Benjamínovi synovia nevypudili. Tak Jebuzejci bývajú s Benjamínovými synmi v Jeruzaleme až dodnes.
21 (ROH) Ale Jebuzeja, ktorý býval v Jeruzaleme, nevyhnali synovia Benjaminovi, a tak býval Jebuzej so synmi Benjaminovými v Jeruzaleme až do tohoto dňa.

22 (KJV) And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel: and the LORD was with them.
22 (KAT) Aj Jozefov dom tiahol hore do Betela a Pán bol s nimi.
22 (ROH) A odišli aj dom Jozefov hore do Bét-ela, a Hospodin s nimi.

23 (KJV) And the house of Joseph sent to descry Bethel. (Now the name of the city before was Luz.)
23 (KAT) Keď z Jozefovho domu podnikali výzvedy do Betela - mesto sa predtým nazývalo Luza -,
23 (ROH) Lebo dom Jozefov dali prešpehovať Bét-el. A meno toho mesta bolo predtým Lúz.

24 (KJV) And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Shew us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will shew thee mercy.
24 (KAT) hliadky videli istého muža, ktorý vychádzal z mesta, a povedali mu: „Ukáž nám, kade možno vojsť do mesta! Potom ti dáme milosť!“
24 (ROH) A keď videli strážcovia muža, ktorý vychádzal z mesta, riekli mu: Ukáž nám, prosíme, kade sa vojde do mesta, a učiníme ti milosť.

25 (KJV) And when he shewed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.
25 (KAT) A keď im ukázal, kade sa dá vojsť do mesta, vybili mesto mečom, ale onoho muža a celú jeho rodinu prepustili.
25 (ROH) A ukázal im, kade sa vojde do mesta, a tak zbili mesto ostrím meča, a človeka i celú jeho čeľaď prepustili.

26 (KJV) And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz: which is the name thereof unto this day.
26 (KAT) Ten muž sa odobral do krajiny Hetejcov, postavil si tam mesto a nazval ho Luza. Tak sa menuje až podnes.
26 (ROH) A človek odišiel do zeme Hetejov, kde vystavil mesto a nazval jeho meno Lúz. To je jeho meno až do tohoto dňa.

27 (KJV) Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
27 (KAT) Ale ani Manasses si nepodmanil Betsan s jeho dedinami, Tanak s jeho dedinami, obyvateľov Dora s jeho dedinami, obyvateľov Jeblaáma s jeho dedinami a obyvateľov Mageda s jeho dedinami. Tak sa umožnilo Kanaánčanom zostať v tejto krajine.
27 (ROH) A Manasses nevyhnal obyvateľov Bét-šeána a jeho mestečiek ani Tánacha a jeho mestečiek ani obyvateľov mesta Dóra a jeho mestečiek ani obyvateľov Jiblama a jeho mestečiek ani obyvateľov Megidda a jeho mestečiek, a preto volil Kananej bývať v tej zemi.

28 (KJV) And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out.
28 (KAT) Keď potom Izrael zosilnel, donútil ich na roboty, ale celkom si ich nepodmanil.
28 (ROH) Ale stalo sa, keď zosilnel Izrael, že uviedol Kananeja pod plat, ale vyhnať nevyhnal ho.

29 (KJV) Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.
29 (KAT) Ani Efraim nevypudil Kanaánčanov, ktorí bývali v Gazere. Tak zostali Kanaánčania medzi nimi v Gazere.
29 (ROH) Ani Efraim nevyhnal Kananeja, ktorý býval v Gázere, a tak býva Kananej v jeho strede, v Gázere.

30 (KJV) Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.
30 (KAT) Zabulon nevypudil obyvateľov Ketrona a obyvateľov Nálola. Tak zostali Kanaánčania medzi nimi, ale museli na nich robiť.
30 (ROH) Zabulon nevyhnal obyvateľov Kitrona ani obyvateľov Nahalola, preto býva Kananej v jeho strede, a stali sa poplatnými.

31 (KJV) Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob:
31 (KAT) Aser zasa nevyhnal obyvateľov Aka ani obyvateľov Sidona, ani Ahalaba, Achaziba, Helbu, Afeka a Rohoba.
31 (ROH) Aser nevyhnal obyvateľov mesta Akko ani obyvateľov Sidona ani Achlába ani Achzíba ani Chelby ani Afíka ani Rechoba.

32 (KJV) But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: for they did not drive them out.
32 (KAT) Tak Aserovci bývali medzi Kanaánčanmi, ktorí zostali v krajine, lebo ich nevypudili.
32 (ROH) A tak býva Aser v strede Kananeja, obyvateľov to zeme, pretože ho nevyhnal.

33 (KJV) Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh, nor the inhabitants of Beth-anath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh and of Beth-anath became tributaries unto them.
33 (KAT) Neftali nevypudil obyvateľov Bet-Šemeša a obyvateľov Bet-Anata. Tak bývali medzi Kanaánčanmi, ktorí zostali v krajine. Ale obyvatelia Bet-Šemeša a Bet-Anata museli na nich robiť.
33 (ROH) Naftali nevyhnal obyvateľov Bét-šemeša ani obyvateľov Bét-anata, a tak býva v strede Kananeja, v strede obyvateľov tej zeme, avšak obyvatelia Bét-šemeša a Bét-anata stali sa im poplatnými.

34 (KJV) And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountain: for they would not suffer them to come down to the valley:
34 (KAT) Amorejčania vytláčali Danových synov na vrchovinu a nedovoľovali im zostúpiť na rovinu.
34 (ROH) A Amoreji utiskovali synov Dánových vytískajúc ich na vrchy lebo im nedali sísť do údolia.

35 (KJV) But the Amorites would dwell in mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became tributaries.
35 (KAT) A tak zostali Amorejčania bývať v Har-Harese, v Ajalone a Salebime. Keď však ruka Jozefovho domu zosilnela, museli na nich robiť.
35 (ROH) A Amoreji volili bývať na vrchu Cherese, v Ajalone a v Šaalbíme. Ale keď nadobudla váhy ruka domu Jozefovho, stali sa poplatnými.

36 (KJV) And the coast of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock, and upward.
36 (KAT) Územie Amorejčanov ide od Škorpiónovej vysočiny, od Sely ďalej hore.
36 (ROH) A územie Amorejovo bolo od svahu Akrabbím, od skaly a vyše.
