1 (UKJV) "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be you perfect. "
1 (KAT) Keď mal Abram deväťdesiatdeväť rokov, zjavil sa mu Pán a povedal mu: „Ja som všemohúci Boh, chodievaj predo mnou a buď dokonalý.
2 (UKJV) And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.
2 (KAT) Uzavrel som svoju zmluvu medzi mnou a tebou a rozmnožím ťa prenáramne.“
3 (UKJV) And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
3 (KAT) Tu padol Abram na tvár
4 (UKJV) As for me, behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.
4 (KAT) a Boh s ním hovoril: „To som ja, čo mám zmluvu s tebou, že budeš otcom mnohých národov.
5 (UKJV) "Neither shall your name any more be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made you. "
5 (KAT) A tvoje meno nebude už viac Abram, ale Abrahám, lebo ťa urobím otcom mnohých národov.
6 (UKJV) And I will make you exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come out of you.
6 (KAT) Dám sa ti rozrásť prenáramne, rozmnožím ťa v národy, i králi z teba vzídu.
7 (UKJV) And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto you, and to your seed after you.
7 (KAT) A uzavieram zmluvu medzi mnou a tebou a medzi tvojím potomstvom po tebe vo všetkých pokoleniach ako zmluvu večnú, že budem Bohom tvojím a tvojho potomstva po tebe.
8 (UKJV) "And I will give unto you, and to your seed after you, the land wherein you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. "
8 (KAT) A tebe i tvojmu potomstvu po tebe dám krajinu, v ktorej si ako prišelec, celú zem Kanaán do večného vlastníctva; a budem vaším Bohom.“
9 (UKJV) And God said unto Abraham, You shall keep my covenant therefore, you, and your seed after you in their generations.
9 (KAT) Potom Pán hovoril Abrahámovi: „Ale aj ty zachovaj moju zmluvu, ty aj tvoje potomstvo po tebe vo všetkých pokoleniach!
10 (UKJV) "This is my covenant, which all of you shall keep, between me and you and your seed after you; Every male child among you shall be circumcised. "
10 (KAT) Toto je moja zmluva medzi mnou a vami, a medzi tvojím potomstvom po tebe, ktorú zachováte: Nech je obrezaný každý z vás, kto je mužského pohlavia!
11 (UKJV) "And all of you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant between me and you. "
11 (KAT) Obrežete mäso svojej predkožky a bude to znakom zmluvy medzi mnou a vami.
12 (UKJV) And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of your seed.
12 (KAT) Na ôsmy deň nech je obrezaný každý z vás mužského pohlavia z pokolenia na pokolenie, aj (otrok), čo sa ti narodil v dome, i taký, ktorý bol od cudzinca kúpený za peniaze a ktorý nie je tvojím potomstvom.
13 (UKJV) He that is born in your house, and he that is bought with your money, must essentially be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
13 (KAT) Obrezaný musí byť aj ten, čo sa narodil v tvojom dome, i taký, ktorý bol kúpený za peniaze. Moja zmluva na vašom tele bude zmluvou večnou.
14 (UKJV) "And the uncircumcised male child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant. "
14 (KAT) Muž, ktorému nebude obrezané mäso predkožky, nech je vylúčený zo svojho ľudu. Porušil moju zmluvu.“
15 (UKJV) And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
15 (KAT) A Boh povedal Abrahámovi aj toto: „Svoju manželku Sarai už nebudeš volať Sarai, ale Sára bude jej meno.
16 (UKJV) "And I will bless her, and give you a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. "
16 (KAT) Veď ťa požehnám a dám ti z nej syna. Aj ju požehnám: Z nej budú pochádzať národy a králi národov.“
17 (UKJV) Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
17 (KAT) Tu padol Abrahám na tvár a smial sa; myslel si totižto: „Vari sa môže storočnému niečo narodiť a deväťdesiatročná Sára môže ešte porodiť?!“
18 (UKJV) And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before you!
18 (KAT) A Abrahám povedal Bohu: „Keby aspoň Izmael žil z tvojej priazne!“
19 (UKJV) "And God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed; and you shall call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. "
19 (KAT) Ale Pán opakoval: „Tvoja žena Sára ti porodí syna a dáš mu meno Izák, a svoju zmluvu s ním urobím zmluvou večnou preň i pre jeho potomstvo po ňom.
20 (UKJV) "And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he brought forth, and I will make him a great nation. "
20 (KAT) Aj čo sa týka Izmaela, som ťa vypočul: Požehnám ho a rozmnožím a rozšírim ho prenáramne. Dvanásť kniežat sa z neho narodí a urobím z neho veľký národ.
21 (UKJV) But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto you at this set time in the next year.
21 (KAT) Ale svoju zmluvu potvrdím s Izákom, ktorého ti porodí Sára do roka v tomto čase.“
22 (UKJV) And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.
22 (KAT) A keď Boh prestal s ním hovoriť, vystúpil od Abraháma hore.
23 (UKJV) "And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the very same day, as God had said unto him. "
23 (KAT) Potom vzal Abrahám svojho syna Izmaela, aj všetkých, čo sa narodili v jeho dome, i všetkých, čo boli kúpení za peniaze, všetkých mužov Abrahámovho domu a v ten istý deň obrezal mäso ich predkožky, ako mu prikázal Boh.
24 (UKJV) And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
24 (KAT) Abrahám mal deväťdesiatdeväť rokov, keď mu bolo obrezané mäso predkožky.
25 (UKJV) And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
25 (KAT) Jeho syn Izmael mal trinásť rokov, keď mu bolo obrezané mäso predkožky.
26 (UKJV) In the very same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.
26 (KAT) V ten istý deň bol obrezaný Abrahám i jeho syn Izmael a s ním boli obrezaní všetci muži jeho domu, tak tí, čo sa narodili v jeho dome, ako aj tí, čo boli od cudzinca kúpení za peniaze.
27 (UKJV) And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.

And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.
Gn 15:18 - In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto your seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Ex 2:24 - And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
Ex 6:5 - "And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. "
Lv 26:42 - "Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. "
Gn 12:2 - "And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing: "
Gn 13:16 - And I will make your seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall your seed also be numbered.
Gn 15:5 - And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if you be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall your seed be.

As for me, behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.
Rim 4:17 - (As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who replenishes life to the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were.
Verš 6
And I will make you exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come out of you.
Mt 1:6 - "And Jesse brings forth David the king; and David the king brings forth Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias; "
Verš 7
And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto you, and to your seed after you.
Gn 13:15 - For all the land which you see, to you will I give it, and to your seed for ever.
Verš 8
"And I will give unto you, and to your seed after you, the land wherein you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. "
Gn 15:18 - In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto your seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Dt 1:8 - Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

"And all of you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant between me and you. "
Sk 7:8 - "And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham brings forth Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac brings forth Jacob; and Jacob brings forth the twelve patriarchs. "
Rim 4:11 - "And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: "
Verš 12
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of your seed.
Lv 12:3 - And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
Lk 2:21 - And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
Verš 19
"And God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed; and you shall call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. "
Gn 18:10 - "And he said, I will certainly return unto you according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah your wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. "
Gn 21:2 - For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
Verš 20
"And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he brought forth, and I will make him a great nation. "
Gn 16:10 - And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply your seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
Gn 25:12 - Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
Gn 25:16 - "These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. "
Verš 21
But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto you at this set time in the next year.
Gn 21:2 - For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
Gn 17,1-8 - Všemohúci Boh, hebr. ,El-Šaddaj', označuje Boha, ktorý sám sebe stačí a ktorý môže všetko (Ex 6,2). Boh pripomína svoju zmluvu, ale už aj od Abrama žiada okrem dokonalého života a vernosti – chodievaj predo mnou – obriezku, ktorá bude vonkajším znakom zmluvy. Obriezka sama nie je zmluvou, ale len znakom. – Boh mení Abramovo meno na Abrahám – otec množstva. Aj táto zmena je znakom, že Boh svoje prisľúbenie o Abrahámovom potomstve splní.
Gn 17,9-14 - Obriezka jestvovala už pred Abrahámom. Teraz dostáva iný zmysel (Ex 4,25; Joz 5,2), náboženský charakter. V Izraeli od čias Abrahámových bola vonkajším znakom zmluvy medzi Bohom a Izraelitmi, mala pripomínať povinnosti a záväzky, ktoré mali Izraeliti voči Bohu a bola upamätovaním na vyvolenie Božie: z potomstva Abrahámovho narodí sa Mesiáš. Len tí budú účastní na požehnaní Božom, čo budú mať obriezku, len tí budú vlastníkmi zasľúbenej zeme, čo budú nosiť toto viditeľné znamenie – ostatní budú vytvorení, vyobcovaní spomedzi Božieho ľudu. Obriezka sama v sebe bola len znamením, teda nespôsobovala sama zo seba ospravedlnenie, no povzbudzovala človeka na vzbudenie viery, nádeje a lásky k Bohu, oživovala nádej v budúceho Mesiáša. Takto obriezka bola predobrazom sviatosti krstu (Kol 2,11). Obriezkou sa stával starozákonný človek členom Božieho ľudu a krstom sa stávame členmi kráľovstva Kristovho, sv. Cirkvi. Boh pozdvihuje známy obrad na nové označenie, ako to bolo pri zmluve s Noemom: dúhu dal na znamenie, že viac nebude potopy, tak tu obriezku (poznali ju Edomčania, Amončania, Moabčania, Arabi, ba aj Egypťania) nariaďuje nosiť ako znamenie svojej zmluvy s Abrahámom a jeho potomstvom, a takto sa aj obriezka stáva jednou z podmienok zmluvy. Obriezku vykonával obyčajne otec rodiny, neskoršie osobitný skúsený muž, ktorého volali mohel. Robili ju ostrým kamenným nožom.
Gn 17,15 - Boh mení aj meno Saraiino. Doteraz sa volala Sarai (t. j. Pani moja, Kráľovná moja), nabudúce jej meno bude len Sára, t. j. Pani, Kráľovná, lebo bude matkou vyvoleného národa a matkou mnohých kniežat a kráľov (6.16). Táto zmena je teda obdobná so zmenou mena Abrahámovho. Mená budú označovať splnenie Božieho prísľubu.
Gn 17,16-22 - Boh udáva dôvod, prečo zmenil meno Saraiino, a spolu zvestuje Abrahámovi, že prisľúbený dedič bude syn, ktorého mu porodí Sára (15, 4). Abrahámov smiech je alúziou na Izákovo meno. Bola to teda veľká skúška Abrahámovej viery. Požehnania nebudú patriť Izmaelovi, ale Izákovi, ktorý bude dedičom Božích prísľubov.
