1Tim 6, 1-21

1 Whoever are servants under the yoke, let them consider their masters to be worthy of every honor, lest the name and doctrine of the Lord be blasphemed. 2 But those who have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brothers, but rather serve them all the more because they are believing and beloved, participants of the same service. Teach and exhort these things. 3 If anyone teaches otherwise, and does not consent to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to that doctrine which is in accord with piety, 4 then he is arrogant, knowing nothing, yet languishing amid the questions and quarrels of words. From these arise envy, contention, blasphemy, evil suspicions: 5 the conflicts of men who have been corrupted in mind and deprived of truth, who consider profit to be piety. 6 But piety with sufficiency is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and there is no doubt that we can take nothing away. 8 But, having nourishment and some kind of covering, we should be content with these. 9 For those who want to become rich fall into temptation and into the snare of the devil and into many useless and harmful desires, which submerge men in destruction and in perdition. 10 For desire is the root of all evils. Some persons, hungering in this way, have strayed from the faith and have entangled themselves in many sorrows. 11 But you, O man of God, flee from these things, and truly pursue justice, piety, faith, charity, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you have been called, and make a good profession of faith in the sight of many witnesses. 13 I charge you, in the sight of God, who enlivens all things, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who gave the testimony of a good profession under Pontius Pilate, 14 to observe the commandment, immaculately, irreproachably, unto the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 For at the proper time, he shall reveal the blessed and only Power, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, 16 who alone holds immortality, and who inhabits the inaccessible light, whom no man has seen, nor even is able to see, to whom is honor and everlasting dominion. Amen. 17 Instruct the wealthy of this age not to have a superior attitude, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who offers us everything in abundance to enjoy, 18 and to do good, to become rich in good works, to donate readily, to share, 19 to gather for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may obtain true life. 20 O Timothy, guard what has been deposited with you, avoiding the voice of profane novelties and of opposing ideas, which are falsely called knowledge. 21 Certain persons, promising 682 these things, have perished from the faith. May grace be with you. Amen.

1Tim 6, 1-21

Verš 1
Whoever are servants under the yoke, let them consider their masters to be worthy of every honor, lest the name and doctrine of the Lord be blasphemed.
Ef 6:5 - Servants, be obedient to your lords according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to Christ.
Kol 3:22 - Servants, obey, in all things, your lords according to the flesh, not serving only when seen, as if to please men, but serving in simplicity of heart, fearing God.
Tít 2:9 - Exhort servants to be submissive to their masters, in all things pleasing, not contradicting,
1Pt 2:18 - Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and meek, but also to the unruly.

Verš 4
then he is arrogant, knowing nothing, yet languishing amid the questions and quarrels of words. From these arise envy, contention, blasphemy, evil suspicions:
1Tim 1:4 - against those who have been paying attention to fables and endless genealogies. These things present questions as if they were greater than the edification that is of God, which is in faith.
2Tim 2:23 - But avoid foolish and undisciplined questions, for you know that these produce strife.
Tít 3:9 - But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, as well as arguments against the law. For these are useless and empty.

Verš 5
the conflicts of men who have been corrupted in mind and deprived of truth, who consider profit to be piety.
1Kor 11:16 - But if anyone has a mind to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor does the Church of God.

Verš 6
But piety with sufficiency is great gain.
Prís 15:16 - Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures and dissatisfaction.
Heb 13:5 - Let your behavior be 690 without avarice; be content with what you are offered. For he himself has said, “I will not abandon you, and I will not neglect you.”

Verš 7
For we brought nothing into this world, and there is no doubt that we can take nothing away.
Jób 1:21 - and he said, “Naked I departed from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Just as it pleased the Lord, so has it been done. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Jób 27:19 - When he falls asleep, the rich man will leave him with nothing; he will open his eyes and find nothing.
Ž 49:17 - Truly, you have hated discipline, and you have cast my sermons behind you.

Verš 8
But, having nourishment and some kind of covering, we should be content with these.
Prís 27:26 - Lambs are for your clothing, and goats are for the price of a field.
Ž 55:22 -
Mt 6:25 - And so I say to you, do not be anxious about your life, as to what you will eat, nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is not life 567 more than food, and the body more than clothing?
1Pt 5:7 - Cast all your cares upon him, for he takes care of you.

Verš 9
For those who want to become rich fall into temptation and into the snare of the devil and into many useless and harmful desires, which submerge men in destruction and in perdition.
Prís 11:28 - Whoever trusts in his riches will fall. But the just shall spring up like a green leaf.
Mt 13:22 - And whoever has received the seed among thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the falseness of riches suffocate the word, and he is effectively without fruit.
Jak 5:1 - Act now, you who are wealthy! Weep and wail in your miseries, which will soon come upon you!

Verš 10
For desire is the root of all evils. Some persons, hungering in this way, have strayed from the faith and have entangled themselves in many sorrows.
Ex 23:8 - Neither shall you accept bribes, which blind even the prudent and subvert the words of the just.
Dt 16:19 - and not so as to show favoritism to either side. You shall not accept a person’s reputation, nor gifts. For gifts blind the eyes of the wise and alter the words of the just.
Prís 15:16 - Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures and dissatisfaction.

Verš 11
But you, O man of God, flee from these things, and truly pursue justice, piety, faith, charity, patience, meekness.
2Tim 2:22 - So then, flee from the desires of your youth, yet truly, pursue justice, faith, hope, charity, and peace, along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.

Verš 12
Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you have been called, and make a good profession of faith in the sight of many witnesses.
1Tim 1:18 - This precept I commend to you, my son Timothy, in accord with the prophets who preceded you: that you serve among them like a soldier in a good war,

Verš 13
I charge you, in the sight of God, who enlivens all things, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who gave the testimony of a good profession under Pontius Pilate,
1Tim 5:21 - I testify before God and Christ Jesus and the elect Angels, that you should observe these things without prejudgment, doing nothing which shows favoritism to either side.
Dt 32:39 - See that I am alone, and there is no other god beside me. I will kill, and I will cause to live. I will strike, and I will heal. And there is no one who is able to rescue from my hand.
1Sam 2:6 - The Lord brings death, and he gives life. He leads away to death, and he brings back again.
Mt 27:11 - Now Jesus stood before the procurator, and the procurator questioned him, saying, “You are the king of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “You are saying so.”
Jn 18:37 - And so Pilate said to him, “You are a king, then?” Jesus answered, “You are saying that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world: so that I may offer testimony to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice.”

Verš 15
For at the proper time, he shall reveal the blessed and only Power, the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
1Tim 1:17 - So then, to the King of ages, to the immortal, invisible, solitary God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Zjv 19:16 - And he has on his garment and on his thigh written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Verš 16
who alone holds immortality, and who inhabits the inaccessible light, whom no man has seen, nor even is able to see, to whom is honor and everlasting dominion. Amen.

1Jn 4:12 - No one has ever seen God. But if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Verš 17
Instruct the wealthy of this age not to have a superior attitude, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who offers us everything in abundance to enjoy,
Mk 4:18 - And there are others who are sown among thorns. These are those who hear the word,
Lk 8:14 - And those which fell among thorns are those who have heard it, but as they go along, they are suffocated by the concerns and riches and pleasures of this life, and so they do not yield fruit.

Verš 19

Lk 16:9 - And so I say to you, make friends for yourself using iniquitous mammon, so that, when you will have passed away, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles.

Verš 20
O Timothy, guard what has been deposited with you, avoiding the voice of profane novelties and of opposing ideas, which are falsely called knowledge.
1Tim 1:4 - against those who have been paying attention to fables and endless genealogies. These things present questions as if they were greater than the edification that is of God, which is in faith.
1Tim 4:7 - But avoid the silly fables of old women. And exercise yourself so as to advance in piety.
2Tim 2:16 - But avoid profane or empty talk. For these things advance one greatly in impiety.

Tít 3:9 - But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, as well as arguments against the law. For these are useless and empty.
