Jób 33, 1-33

1 Wherefore, Job, I pray you, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words. 2 Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue has spoken in my mouth. 3 My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly. 4 The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life. 5 If you can answer me, set your words in order before me, stand up. 6 Behold, I am according to your wish in God's position: I also am formed out of the clay. 7 Behold, my terror shall not make you afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon you. 8 Surely you have spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of your words, saying, 9 "I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me. " 10 Behold, he finds occasions against me, he counts me for his enemy, 11 He puts my feet in the stocks, he marks all my paths. 12 Behold, in this you are not just: I will answer you, that God is greater than man. 13 Why do you strive against him? for he gives not account of any of his matters. 14 For God speaks once, yea twice, yet man perceives it not. 15 "In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; " 16 Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction, 17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. 18 He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword. 19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain: 20 So that his life detests bread, and his soul dainty food. 21 "His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out. " 22 Yea, his soul draws near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers. 23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show unto man his uprightness: 24 Then he is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. 25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth: 26 He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness. 27 "He looks upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not; " 28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. 29 Lo, all these things works God oftentimes with man, 30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living. 31 Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold your peace, and I will speak. 32 If you have anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify you. 33 If not, hearken unto me: hold your peace, and I shall teach you wisdom.

Jób 33, 1-33

Verš 6
Behold, I am according to your wish in God's position: I also am formed out of the clay.
Jób 9:35 - "Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me. "
Jób 23:10 - But he knows the way that I take: when he has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Verš 8
Surely you have spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
Jób 10:7 - "You know that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of your hand. "
Jób 16:17 - Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.
Jób 23:10 - But he knows the way that I take: when he has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Jób 27:5 - God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.

Verš 10
Behold, he finds occasions against me, he counts me for his enemy,
Jób 13:24 - Wherefore hide you your face, and hold me for your enemy?
Jób 16:9 - "He tears me in his wrath, who hates me: he gnashes upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpens his eyes upon me. "
Jób 19:11 - He has also kindled his wrath against me, and he counts me unto him as one of his enemies.

Verš 11
He puts my feet in the stocks, he marks all my paths.
Jób 13:27 - "You put my feet also in the stocks, and look narrowly unto all my paths; you set a print upon the heels of my feet. "
Jób 14:16 - For now you number my steps: do you not watch over my sin?

Verš 20
So that his life detests bread, and his soul dainty food.
Ž 107:18 - "Their soul detests all manner of food; and they draw near unto the gates of death. "

Verš 26
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
Ž 50:15 - And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.
Iz 58:9 - "Then shall you call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting out of the finger, and speaking vanity; "

Verš 30
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
Ž 56:13 - For you have delivered my soul from death: will not you deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Job 33,9 - Elihu zopakuje súhrn Jóbových tvrdení, ktorými ustavične zdôrazňoval svoju nevinnosť (porov. 9,21; 10,7; 12,4; 16,17; 27,5 n.). Odsúdi Jóbovu opovážlivosť. Veď podľa verša 10 Jób pripisoval Bohu istú predpojatosť (porov. 13,24; 19,11).

Job 33,14 - Boh hovorí k ľuďom rozmanitým spôsobom. Elihu uvádza aspoň tri spôsoby: Boh hovorí pomocou videnia (verše 15–18), prostredníctvom chorôb a neduhov (verše 19–22) a konečne cestou priateľského napomenutia (verše 23–28).
