1 (KJV) All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers.
1 (ROH) Každé prikázanie, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes, budete ostríhať, aby ste ich činili, aby ste žili a rozmnožili sa a aby ste vošli a zaujali do dedičstva zem, ktorú prisahal Hospodin vašim otcom.
2 (KJV) And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
2 (ROH) A budeš pamätať na všetky cesty, ktorými ťa viedol Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, toto už štyridsať rokov po púšti, aby ťa ponížil, aby ťa zkúsil, aby sa zvedelo, čo je v tvojom srdci, či budeš ostríhať jeho prikázania a či nie.
3 (KJV) And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
3 (ROH) A ponížil ťa a dopustil na teba hlad a potom ťa kŕmil mannou, ktorej si neznal, ani jej neznali tvoji otcovia, aby ti dal vedieť, že nie na samom chlebe žiť bude človek, ale na všetkom tom, čo vychádza z úst Hospodinových, žiť bude človek.
4 (KJV) Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
4 (ROH) Tvoje rúcho nezvetšelo na tebe, a tvoja noha neopuchla toto už štyridsať rokov.
5 (KJV) Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
5 (ROH) A budeš vedieť vo svojom srdci, že jako človek kázni svojho syna, tak Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, kázni teba.
6 (KJV) Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
6 (ROH) A tedy budeš ostríhať prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, aby si chodil po jeho cestách a aby si sa ho bál.
7 (KJV) For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;
7 (ROH) Lebo Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, ťa vovedie do krásnej zeme dobrej, do zeme potokov, ktoré majú hojnosť vody, do zeme pramenných studieň a hlbín, vyvierajúcich po údoliach i po vrchoch,
8 (KJV) A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;
8 (ROH) do zeme pšenice, jačmeňa, viníc, fíkov a granátových jabĺk, do zeme olejových olív a medu,
9 (KJV) A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.
9 (ROH) do zeme, v ktorej nebudeš jesť chleba po chudobne; nebudeš v nej mať ničoho nedostatku, v zemi, ktorej kamene sú železo, a z jej vrchov budeš sekať meď.
10 (KJV) When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.
10 (ROH) A keď budeš jesť a nasýtiš sa, budeš dobrorečiť Hospodinovi, svojmu Bohu, na tej krásnej zemi dobrej, ktorú ti dal.
11 (KJV) Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
11 (ROH) Vystríhaj sa, aby si nezabudol na Hospodina, svojho Boha, takže by si neostríhal jeho prikázaní, jeho súdov a jeho ustanovení, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes!
12 (KJV) Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
12 (ROH) Aby snáď, keď budeš jesť a nasýtiš sa a vystavíš si krásne domy a budeš bývať,
13 (KJV) And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;
13 (ROH) a keď sa rozmnoží tvoj dobytok a tvoje stádo oviec a kôz, a keď budeš mať mnoho striebra i zlata a budeš mať mnoho všetkého, čo je tvoje,
14 (KJV) Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
14 (ROH) aby sa nepovýšilo tvoje srdce, a zabudol by si na Hospodina, svojho Boha, ktorý ťa vyviedol z Egyptskej zeme, z domu sluhov,
15 (KJV) Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
15 (ROH) ktorý ťa viedol po tej veľkej a strašnej púšti, na ktorej sú ohniví hadi a škorpióni, po vyprahlom kraji, kde niet vody, ktorý ti vyviedol vodu z pretvrdej skaly,
16 (KJV) Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
16 (ROH) ktorý ťa kŕmil na púšti mannou, ktorej neznali tvoji otcovia, aby ťa ponížil a aby ťa zkúsil, aby ti potom dobre činil,
17 (KJV) And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.
17 (ROH) lebo by si povedal vo svojom srdci: Moja sila a vláda mojej ruky mi nadovážila tohoto bohatstva.
18 (KJV) But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
18 (ROH) Ale budeš pamätať na Hospodina, svojho Boha, lebo on je ten, ktorý ti dáva silu, aby si nadobudol bohatstva, aby postavil svoju smluvu, ktorú prisahal tvojim otcom, ako je tomu dnes.
19 (KJV) And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
19 (ROH) Lebo stane sa, keby si predsa len zabudol na Hospodina, svojho Boha, a išiel by si za inými bohmi a slúžil by si im a klaňal by si sa im, osvedčujem proti vám dnes, že istotne zahyniete.
20 (KJV) As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.
20 (ROH) Jako národy, ktoré Hospodin zahubí zpred vašej tvári, tak zahyniete, pretože ste nepočúvali na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha.

Verš 16
Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
Ex 16:14 - And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.

When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.
Dt 6:11 - And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
Ex 16:14 - And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
Mt 4:4 - But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Lk 4:4 - And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Verš 4
Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
Dt 29:5 - And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.
Neh 9:21 - Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.
Verš 15
Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
Ex 17:6 - Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Nm 20:11 - And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
Ž 78:15 - He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
Ž 114:8 - Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
Dt 8,2 - "Aby zvedel", Mojžiš hovorí ľudskou rečou o Bohu, akoby Boh zvonku musel poznávať vnútro človeka.
Dt 8,3 - O manne porov. Ex 16,16 n. Pán Ježiš používa tieto slová (Mt 4,4) a dáva im hlbší zmysel, ako majú na tomto mieste.
Dt 8,4 - Je to rečnícka vrava a chce sa ňou povedať, že Boh sa za štyridsať rokov staral o zdravie ľudu a aj o jeho odev. Staral sa ako otec o všetko potrebné.
Dt 8,9 - Železo sa v Palestíne nachádza na Libanone, Hermone a v bazaltových kameňoch na okolí Genezaretského jazera. Aj meď sa vyskytuje na Libanone. Izraeliti sa nevenovali baníctvu.
Dt 8,15 - Porov. Nm 21,6; Ex 15,22; 17,1–7 a Nm 20,2–11.
