1 (KJV) Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
1 (ROH) Preto budeš milovať Hospodina, svojho Boha, a budeš ostríhať jeho nariadenie a jeho ustanovenia, jeho súdy a jeho prikázania po všetky dni.
2 (KJV) And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
2 (ROH) A budete znať dnes - lebo veď nehovorím s vašimi synmi, ktorí nepoznali a ktorí nevideli - výchovnú kázeň Hospodina, svojho Boha, jeho veľkosť, jeho silnú ruku a jeho vystreté rameno,
3 (KJV) And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
3 (ROH) jeho znamenia a jeho skutky, ktoré činil prostred Egypta faraonovi, egyptskému kráľovi, a celej jeho zemi,
4 (KJV) And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
4 (ROH) i to, čo učinil egyptskému vojsku, jeho koňom a jeho vozom, ako ich zalial vodami Rudého mora, keď sa hnali za vami, a Hospodin ich zahubil, a je tak až do dnešného dňa;
5 (KJV) And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;
5 (ROH) a budete znať i to, čo vám činil na púšti, dokiaľ ste neprišli na toto miesto,
6 (KJV) And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
6 (ROH) a čo učinil Dátanovi a Abirámovi, synom Eliába, syna Rúbenovho, jako otvorila zem jeho ústa a pohltila ich aj ich čeľade aj ich stány i so všetkými živými bytosťami, ktoré išly s nimi, vprostred celého Izraela,
7 (KJV) But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
7 (ROH) Lebo vaše vlastné oči to boly, ktoré to videly všetky tie veľké skutky Hospodinove, ktoré činil.
8 (KJV) Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;
8 (ROH) A tedy budete ostríhať každé prikázanie, ktoré vám ja prikazujem dnes, aby ste boli silní a aby ste vošli a zaujali do dedičstva zem, do ktorej idete, aby ste ju zaujali do dedičstva,
9 (KJV) And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
9 (ROH) a aby ste dlho žili na zemi, ktorú prisahal Hospodin vašim otcom, že im ju dá aj ich semenu, zem, ktorá tečie mliekom a medom.
10 (KJV) For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
10 (ROH) Lebo zem, do ktorej ty ideš, aby si ju zaujal do dedičstva, nie je ako Egyptská zem, z ktorej ste vyšli, kde si sial svoje semeno a polieval si svojou nohou jako zeleninovú zahradu.
11 (KJV) But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
11 (ROH) Ale zem, do ktorej idete, aby ste ju zaujali do dedičstva, je zem, v ktorej sú vrchy a doliny, ktorá pije vodu, keď prší dážď z neba,
12 (KJV) A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
12 (ROH) je to zem, o ktorú sa stará Hospodin, tvoj Bôh; oči Hospodina, tvojho Boha, sú ustavične obrátené na ňu od začiatku roka až do konca roka.
13 (KJV) And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
13 (ROH) A stane sa, ak budete naozaj poslúchať moje prikázania, ktoré vám ja prikazujem dnes, milujúc Hospodina, svojho Boha, a slúžiac mu celým svojím srdcom a celou svojou dušou,
14 (KJV) That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
14 (ROH) že dám vašej zemi dážď na jeho čas, ranný i pozdný, a budeš spratávať svoje obilie i svoju vínnu šťavu i svoj olej.
15 (KJV) And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.
15 (ROH) A dám bylinu na tvojom poli pre tvoje hovädá, a budeš jesť a nasýtiš sa.
16 (KJV) Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
16 (ROH) Vystríhajte sa, aby sa nedalo zviesť vaše srdce, a odchýlili by ste sa odo mňa a slúžili by ste iným bohom a klaňali by ste sa im!
17 (KJV) And then the LORD's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
17 (ROH) Lebo by sa zapálil na vás hnev Hospodinov, a zavrel by nebesia, a nebolo by dažďa, a zem by nevydala svojej úrody, a zahynuli by ste rýchle s povrchu tej krásnej zeme dobrej, ktorú vám dáva Hospodin.
18 (KJV) Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
18 (ROH) Ale si položíte tieto moje slová na svoje srdce, a na svoju dušu a priviažete si ich na znamenie na svoju ruku, a budú uzlíkom na upomienku medzi vašimi očami.
19 (KJV) And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
19 (ROH) A budete im vyučovať svojich synov hovoriac o nich, keď budeš sedieť vo svojom dome, i keď pojdeš cestou i keď budeš líhať i keď budeš vstávať;
20 (KJV) And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
20 (ROH) a napíšeš ich na podvoje svojho domu i na svoje brány,
21 (KJV) That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
21 (ROH) aby bolo mnoho vašich dní i dní vašich synov na zemi, ktorú prisahal Hospodin vašim otcom, že im ju dá, jako dni nebies nad zemou.
22 (KJV) For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
22 (ROH) Lebo ak budete naozaj ostríhať každé toto prikázanie, ktoré vám ja prikazujem, aby ste ho činili milujúc Hospodina, svojho Boha, chodiac po všetkých jeho cestách a láskou sa ho pridŕžajúc,
23 (KJV) Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
23 (ROH) vtedy vyženie Hospodin všetky tie národy zpred vašej tvári, a zaujmete do dedičstva národy, ktoré sú väčšie a mocnejšie ako vy.
24 (KJV) Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
24 (ROH) Každé miesto, na ktoré šľapí vaša noha, bude vaše, hen od púšte a od Libanona, od rieky, rieky Eufrates, až po zadné more bude vaše územie.
25 (KJV) There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
25 (ROH) Nikto neobstojí pred vami; váš strach a vašu bázeň dá Hospodin, váš Bôh, na tvár celej zeme, po ktorej budete šliapať, tak ako vám hovoril.
26 (KJV) Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
26 (ROH) Vidzže, ja vám dnes predkladám požehnanie a zlorečenie,
27 (KJV) A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
27 (ROH) požehnanie, keď budete počúvať na prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, ktoré vám ja prikazujem dnes,
28 (KJV) And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
28 (ROH) a zlorečenie, keby ste nepočúvali na prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, a keby ste vybočili z cesty, ktorú vám ja prikazujem dnes, idúc za inými bohy, ktorých neznáte.
29 (KJV) And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
29 (ROH) A stane sa, keď ťa vovedie Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, do zeme, do ktorej ideš, aby si ju zaujal do dedičstva, že dáš požehnanie na vrchu Gerizím a zlorečenie na vrchu Ébal.
30 (KJV) Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
30 (ROH) Hľa, či nie sú oba vrchy za Jordánom, za cestou na západe slnka, v zemi Kananeja, ktorý býva na rovine naproti Gilgalu, pri dúbrave Móre?
31 (KJV) For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
31 (ROH) Lebo vy prejdete cez Jordán, aby ste vošli zaujať do dedičstva zem, ktorú vám dá Hospodin, váš Bôh, a zaujmete ju do dedičstva a budete bývať v nej.
32 (KJV) And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.
32 (ROH) A tedy budete hľadieť, aby ste činili všetky ustanovenia a súdy, ktoré vám ja predkladám dnes.

Verš 6
And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
Nm 16:31 - And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
Nm 27:3 - Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.
Ž 106:17 - The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
Verš 16
Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
Dt 8:19 - And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
Verš 18
Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
Dt 6:6 - And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
Dt 6:8 - And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Verš 19
And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Dt 4:9 - Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;
Dt 6:7 - And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Verš 24
Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
Joz 1:3 - Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
Joz 14:9 - And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
Verš 25
There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
Ex 23:27 - I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.
Verš 29
And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
Dt 27:12 - These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:
Joz 8:33 - And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount Gerizim, and half of them over against mount Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should bless the people of Israel.
Dt 27:13 - And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
Dt 11,10-14 - Krása a úroda zasľúbenej zeme porovnáva sa s pomermi v Egypte. Palestína sa nemusí umele zavodňovať, ako to museli robiť Izraeliti, keď otročili v egyptskej krajine. V Egypte sa nohami robili malé kanály krížom-krážom po poli, aby voda z Nílu došla na všetky hriadky.
Dt 11,18-20 - Porov. 6,6–9.
Dt 11,29 - Vrchy Hebal a Garizim sú skoro v strede Svätej zeme, južne od starého mesta Sichem alebo dnešného Nablusu (Gn 12,6; Jn 4,20).
Dt 11,30 - Araba označuje tu západný breh Jordána; Gilgal (Galgala) je dnešné Džildžila, dedina asi 20 km južne od vrchu Garizim (2 Kr 2,1). O dube Moreho (hebr. blízko terebintov Moreho) pozri Gn 12,6.
