Kniha proroka Malachiáša

1 (CPDV) The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by the hand of Malachi.
1 (ROH) Bremä slova Hospodinovho, odkázané Izraelovi po Malachiášovi.

2 (CPDV) I have loved you, says the Lord, and you have said, “In what way have you loved us?” Was not Esau brother to Jacob, says the Lord? And have I not loved Jacob,
2 (ROH) Milujem vás, hovorí Hospodin. Ale vy hovoríte: V čom nás miluješ? Či nebol Ezav Jakobovi bratom? hovorí Hospodin. A miloval som Jakoba

3 (CPDV) but held hatred for Esau? And I have set his mountains in solitude, and his inheritance with the serpents of the desert.
3 (ROH) a Ezava som nenávidel; obrátil som jeho vrchy na púšť a jeho dedičstvo som dal šakalom pustiny.

4 (CPDV) But if Idumea will say, “We have been destroyed, but when we return, we will build up what has been destroyed,” thus says the Lord of hosts: They will build up, and I will destroy. And they will be called “The limits of impiety,” and, “The people with whom the Lord has been angry, even to eternity.”
4 (ROH) Keď povie Edom: Porazení sme, ale zase vystavíme rumy, takto hovorí Hospodin Zástupov: Oni budú staväť, a ja budem boriť, a nazovú ich územím bezbožnosti a ľudom, na ktorý sa hnevá Hospodin a tak až na veky.

5 (CPDV) And your eyes will see. And you will say, “May the Lord be magnified beyond the limits of Israel.”
5 (ROH) Vaše oči to uvidia, a vy poviete: Veľký je Hospodin nad územím Izraelovým!

6 (CPDV) The son honors the father, and the servant his master. If, therefore, I am Father, where is my honor? And if I am Master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. And you have said, “In what way, have we despised your name?”
6 (ROH) Syn ctí otca a sluha svojho pána; ale jestli som ja otec, kde je moja česť? A jestli som pánom, kde moja bázeň? hovorí Hospodin Zástupov, vám, kňazi, ktorí opovrhujete mojím menom a hovoríte: V čom opovrhujeme tvojím menom?

7 (CPDV) You offer polluted bread upon my altar, and you say, “In what way, have we polluted you?” In that you say, “The table of the Lord has been despised.”
7 (ROH) Donášate na môj oltár poškvrnený chlieb a hovoríte: Čím ťa poškvrňujeme? Tým, že hovoríte: Stolom Hospodinovým sa opovrhuje.

8 (CPDV) If you offer the blind for sacrifice, is this not evil? And if you offer the lame and the sick, is this not evil? Offer it to your leader, if he will be pleased with it, or if he will accept your face, says the Lord of hosts.
8 (ROH) A keď donášate obetovať slepé, to nie je zlé; a keď dovádzate chromé alebo nemocné, to nie je zlé! Nože obetuj to svojmu vladárovi, či mu budeš milý, alebo či pohliadne na teba? hovorí Hospodin Zástupov.

9 (CPDV) And now, beseech the face of God, so that he may have mercy on you (for by your hand has this been done) if, in any way, he might accept your faces, says the Lord of hosts.
9 (ROH) Preto teraz nože sa pokorne modlite pred tvárou silného Boha, a zmiluje sa nad nami! Ale keďže to pošlo z vašej ruky, či aj pohliadne pre vás na niekoho? hovorí Hospodin Zástupov.

10 (CPDV) Who is there among you that would close the doors and enflame my altar without pay? I have no favor in you, says the Lord of hosts. And I will not accept a gift from your hand.
10 (ROH) Oj, aby aj bol niekto medzi vami, kto by zamkol dvere, a neosvecovali by ste nadarmo môjho oltára! Nemám vo vás záľuby, hovorí Hospodin Zástupov, a nechcem obetného daru obilného z vašej ruky.

11 (CPDV) For, from the rising of the sun even to its setting, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place, a clean oblation is being sacrificed and offered to my name. For my name is great among the Gentiles, says the Lord of hosts.
11 (ROH) Lebo od východu slnca až po jeho západ je veľké moje meno medzi národami, a na každom mieste sa kadí a obetuje môjmu menu, a to čistý obetný dar obilný, lebo moje meno je veľké medzi národami, hovorí Hospodin Zástupov.

12 (CPDV) And you have polluted it, in that you say, “The table of the Lord has been contaminated; and that which is placed upon it is contemptible, compared with the fire that devours it.”
12 (ROH) Ale vy ho poškvrňujete tým, že hovoríte: Stôl Pánov je zanečistený, a jeho ovocím, jeho pokrmom sa opovrhuje.

13 (CPDV) And you have said, “Behold our labor,” and you have exhaled it away, says the Lord of hosts. And you brought in by plunder the lame, and the sick, and brought it in as a gift. How can I receive this from your hand, says the Lord?
13 (ROH) A k tomu hovoríte, hľa, vraj, aký to trud! A fúkate naň pohrdlivo, hovorí Hospodin Zástupov, a donášate ulúpené, chromé a nemocné a tak donášate obetný dar obilný; či azda to mám so záľubou prijať z vašej ruky? hovorí Hospodin.

14 (CPDV) Cursed is the deceitful, who holds in his flock a male, and, when making a vow, offers in sacrifice that which is feeble to the Lord. For I am a great King, says the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the Gentiles.
14 (ROH) Ale zlorečený je ten, kto klame, kto majúc vo svojom stáde samca sľubuje a obetuje Pánovi zkazené! Lebo ja som veľký Kráľ, hovorí Hospodin Zástupov, a moje meno je strašné medzi národami.
