Ž 123, 1-8

1 (CPDV) A Canticle in steps. If the Lord had not been with us, let Israel now say it:
1 (ROH) K tebe pozdvihujem svoje oči, ó, ty, ktorý tróniš na nebesiach!

2 (CPDV) if the Lord had not been with us, when men rose up against us,
2 (ROH) Hľa, jako oči sluhov na ruku ich pánov, ako oči dievky na ruku jej panej, tak hľadia naše oči na Hospodina, našeho Boha, dokiaľ sa nezmiluje nad nami.

3 (CPDV) perhaps they would have swallowed us alive. When their fury was enraged against us,
3 (ROH) Zmiluj sa nad nami, Hospodine, zmiluj sa nad nami, lebo sme sa hojne nasýtili opovrženia.

4 (CPDV) perhaps the waters would have engulfed us.
4 (ROH) Naša duša sa hojne nasýtila posmechu bezstarostných a opovrženia pyšných.

5 (CPDV) Our soul has passed through a torrent. Perhaps, our soul had even passed through intolerable water.
5 ----

6 (CPDV) Blessed is the Lord, who has not given us into the harm of their teeth.
6 ----

7 (CPDV) Our soul has been snatched away like a sparrow from the snare of the hunters. The snare has been broken, and we have been freed.
7 ----

8 (CPDV) Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
8 ----
