Est 4, 1-34

1 (KJV) When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;
1 (ROH) A Mardocheus zvedel všetko, čo sa stalo. Vtedy roztrhol Mardocheus svoje rúcho a obliekol smútočné rúcho drsné a popol a vyjdúc do prostred mesta kričal velikým krikom a žalostným.

1 (KJV) When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;
2 (ROH) A prišiel až pred bránu kráľovu! Lebo nebolo dovolené vojsť do brány kráľovej v smútočnom vreci.

2 (KJV) And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.
3 (ROH) A vo všetkých krajinách ako i na každom mieste, kam došlo slovo kráľovo a jeho zákon, mali Židia veliký smútok a pôst a plakali a kvílili, a mnohí mali postlané vrece a popol.

2 (KJV) And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.
4 (ROH) Vtedy prišly dievčiny Esterine a jej komorníci a oznámili jej to.

3 (KJV) And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

3 (KJV) And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

4 (KJV) So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not.

4 (KJV) So Esther's maids and her chamberlains came and told it her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received it not.

5 (KJV) Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.
9 (ROH) A tak prišiel Hatach a oznámil Esteri slová Mardocheove.

5 (KJV) Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king's chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.
10 (ROH) A Ester povedala Hatachovi a rozkázala mu odísť k Mardocheovi a povedať mu:

6 (KJV) So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate.
11 (ROH) Všetci služobníci kráľovi i ľud krajín kráľových vedia o tom, že nech by to bol ktokoľvek, či muž či žena, kto by vošiel ku kráľovi do vnútorného dvora, kto by nebol volaný, jeden a ten istý zákon platí o ňom: zabiť ho, krome toho, proti komu by kráľ vystrel zlatú berlu, aby žil; a ja som nebola volaná, aby som vošla ku kráľovi, toto už tridsať dní.

6 (KJV) So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate.
12 (ROH) Ale keď oznámili Mardocheovi slová Esterine,

7 (KJV) And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
13 (ROH) riekol Mardocheus, aby dali Esteri odpoveď: Nemysli si vo svojej duši, že sama unikneš v dome kráľovom zo všetkých Židov.

7 (KJV) And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.

8 (KJV) Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.
15 (ROH) Vtedy riekla Ester, aby zase povedali Mardocheovi:

8 (KJV) Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.
16 (ROH) Idi, shromaždi všetkých Židov, ktorí sa nachádzajú v Súsane, a postite sa za mňa a nejedzte ani nepite tri dni ani vodne ani vnoci, a ja tiež i moje dievčatá sa budeme tak postiť, a tak vojdem ku kráľovi, čo nebude podľa zákona, a jestli zahyniem, zahyniem.

9 (KJV) And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.

Est 4, 1-34

Est 4,1 - Na znak svojej bolesti a zúfalosti roztrhol si odev.

Pripisovala to Amanovmu vplyvu. Kráľ podľa dvorných predpisov nemal sa zbytočne nikomu ukazovať. Najdôvernejší úradníci len zdiaľky smeli s ním hovoriť.

Est 4,16 - Pôstom si chcela Ester vyprosiť Božiu pomoc (2 Sam 12,16–23).

Est 4,17 - Po tomto verši patrí čiastka 13,8 – 14,19.
